At a National Press Club speech in 1993, Louis Farrakhan proposed starting a
colony for the "African diaspora" in a host African country, relying heavily
on labor supplied by black American prison inmates, to be sent across the
ocean much like the imperial European powers did with their criminals in the
18th and 19th centuries. That way, the first million or so could choose
between rotting in prison or following a black Pied Piper in his quest to
"start a new nation." He supposedly would pay the air fares for black
college students to come over and "work off their tuitions." I couldn't
help but snicker, considering that the notion of sending blacks back to
Africa is precisely what the KKK has been saying for a century and a half.
