Chelsea 1 Brighton 0
Chelsea win a game and score a goal in September!
It wasn't the greatest game to watch, and the heavy rain outside meant my
picture kept on freezing, but I don't think I missed much while the
picture was frozen/buffering.
Sanchez gave Brighton two good chances to score in the first half, maybe
forgetting that he switched sides in August. Whilst Ugochuckwo was lucky
not to get a red card just before the break, no VAR in the League Cup
worked in his - and Chelsea's - favour there!
Jackson scored his second goal of the season just after the break, from a
Cole Palmer pass. Who looked like a really good player on tonight's
performance. Brighton dominated most of the game though, and Chelsea were
happy to sit back and counter-attack, which as a tactic worked tonight
and Chelsea got a much needed victory and moved in to the next round of
the League Cup, where a home tie with Blackburn Rovers awaits in October.
