Newcastle 4 Chelsea 1
At half-time and the score 1-1 it looked like Chelsea were doing well
at St. James' Park and had a chance of getting some sort of a
'result'... the second half was a different ball game though.
Newcastle stepped it up and Chelsea's young team couldn't live with
them. Defensive errors and poor play didn't help and once Reece James
picked up his second yellow card of the match to take an early bath
the result was never in doubt.
I always thought the international break came at the wrong time for
Chelsea as they looked full of confidence following the Tottenham and
Manchester City games. The second half display today was nowhere near
their performances in those games.
Still a long way to go and more things to learn for the boys in
blue...
