Arsenal are a great team to watch. The best club side in England at the
moment. But I'm not being biased when I say that Ferguson has had at least
three Manchester United sides that have been far more exciting. Quick,
skilfull, at least one genius in every move.
If Arsenal win the Treble then I think we can safely say they are the best
club side for the last five years. If not, then they're just another very
good team.

Maybe you should stop gazing at the ladies shapely bottoms, bouncing up and
down in their tight leotard/thong ensemble.
Roddy.
And still do. That is why there are thousands of moaning tw*ts in the
stands. And you can also link it into poor singing, (expecting the team to
win and therefore not needing to sing to lift the team).

Prayer - to ask that the laws of the universe be annulled in
behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy.
You are being biased, and arrogant.
No United side has been as "exciting, quick or skillful".
They've had an ability to win a football match and the standard of
premiership opposition was lower then.
Look back over the records, United have always amassed the bulk of their
points against "the rest".
Their performance against their rivals has always been patchy.
I think you have a point here.
There are a lot more people at OT since the 90s who haven't come to support
United they've come to be entertained, like they expect from the cinema or
the theatre, or in Arsenal's case, the library.
A. Dieu.
Since the Premiership was formed, there have really only ever been two
constantly consistent teams - Arsenal and Manchester United.... Whilst
nearly every season, there is a dark-horse challenge (Blackburn and
Newcastle come to mind!) there hasn't been anybody anywhere near the
consistency that these two teams have shown.
I wonder whether Chelsea will turn out to be a long-term "contender" in the
Premiership. I certainly hope so... though it will take 3 or 4 seasons to
prove it...
I'm a little disappointed that some people think that Man U have had a "bad"
season. Judging from the weekends game the difference in *ability* between
Arsenal and Man U is still slim, perhaps Man U have lacked consistency
throughout the season. Certainly, by their normal standard they are not
where they want to be which is challenging for the title... But only two
things are standing in their way - a superb run from Arsenal and a certain
Russian with long arms and deep pockets stuffed with cash!
As for the greatest team ever, it is impossible to compare teams from
different era's... Is it fair for example to compare the Arsenal team of
the 30's with today's team? or even todays Man U and Arsenal teams with
the Liverpool side of the late 70's?? I would certainly claim that many
Premiership teams of today could beat the Liverpool team of the 70's - the
standard of the game has increased so much in that time.
Just some more random thoughts!
Regards
Simon

I think virtually every teams performance against their main rivals is
patchy, but if you check the records at
http://www.soccerbase.com/footballlive/?MIval=head
you'll find our number of wins against virtually any team (especially the
big ones) is greater than theirs against us.

The Religion
I think it's quite widely accepted that the Liverpool team of the mid to
late 80s (under Dalglish) was probably their best ever team, although
because of their dickhead fans, they were never able to prove it in Europe,
when the European cup started to strengthen again with the dominance of
Milan etc.

You mean like last season then? Unbeaten against all of the top 5 with only
Arsenal and Chelsea able to scrape draws on their own grounds.
Still - you've always talked bollocks in the past so why change the habit of a
lifetime?

Utd and proud of it.
Thats that then.
And you thought, oh let's go home and troll by claiming that Sharp,
Kancheslkis and Cantona were world class players.
Well you did it.

And i would dispute that Hansen and Lawro are unbiased. They are shite. All
they ever talk about is bloody Shankley and the team Liverpool had in the
70s.
The BBC pundits are fucking useless.
Anyway, for sure you play some nice football but you are quite a long way
from being the greatest ever English team.

Aren't all pundits there to offer an opinion to those who can't be
bothered to form one?

Interesting how a comma can affect the meaning so much :)

Yes. It might be impossible to compare teams across eras, but
it's certainly fun to try. Check the link below for a quick pole.
