"He did not come right out and say it.

But in an appearance on a Tampa radio station on Thursday,
Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman hardly sounded like
a man on a mission to land Vancouver Canucks goaltender
Roberto Luongo this summer."

Then again, even if Yzerman was interested in Luongo, he
wouldn't just come out and say it.

Part of me thinks that Luongo is playing his part of an elaborate
con. The victim would be Scott Howson, who has to unload Rick Nash
and has no stopper. Schneider would be a great fit there. With the
right sweetening, Howson might even be played for his top draft pick
which we could use for Grigorenko, the big Russian centre who is the
consensus best draft eligbile player from the Q this year, who is man-
sized and might be ready to jump into the league, and who would be
ready to take over as number one centre in a couple of years just as
Henrik's term expires.

Part of me thinks that Luongo genuinely wants out, though, possibly
for family reasons.
