Shaw is doing a damn fine job.
I will usually do even better than the following:

My service is never down, and reasonably priced, (try getting 2+ megabits

The CBC, on the other hand, is a Toronto centric tax sponge. If they
operated in a way that united this country and exposed us to culture that
we wanted and could not get on private networks, then I would support
them eagerly. What they do instead is to chase ratings in Ontario by
using our tax dollars to outbid private industry for the exclusive rights
to hockey games just so they can NOT FUCKING SHOW THEM TO US..... And I
am not even going to mention ANNE fucking MURRAY.......

What about the endless parade of east-coast historical dramas about the
pioneering spirit of people who wore a lot of hats (tm, This Hour Has 22
Minutes)? Can't get enough of those.

In a completely unrelated note - I will be interested to see what effect all
the baby @homes moving to their own networks will have on speed; Not that I
have a huge problem with slowness, but I have noticed times when it was
worse than others, and I'm curious if not being forced to share a connection
with some bozo in Lansing Michigan who feels it necessary to rape bandwidth
by viewing a full-length movie over the @home network will help in those
occasional less-than-stellar weeknight slowdowns... Of course, the amount of
people connected to a local hub may have more impact, but I'm curious, none
the less....

Just my personal experience, and I don't have any transfer-rate stats
to back this up like Andy did, but things certainly did seem faster for
me after I switched onto Shaw's network from @Home's.

Or, I could be totally wrong (the old placebo effect?), but it DID
seem that way anyway....
