From an article in the Athletic:

"Most teams drew crowds the same size or bigger than they managed before the pandemic shuttered the 2019-20 season. Only Arizona, Chicago, San Jose, Winnipeg and Buffalo dropped more than 1,000 fans per game from 2019-20."

The Sharks, like the A's, are now a laughable trash heap with no leadership in place to right the ship. Maybe the Sharks can move with the A's to Vegas. Oh wait, that won't work.

Minor note: Arizona's drop can probably be attributed to the small
arena although it is a terrible team.

Hey, there's always Salt Lake City. I hear Quebec would like a team too, but, of course, Bettman would never permit that while he's alive.

San Jose ranked dead last in attendance as a percentage of capacity last year: https://www.hockey-reference.com/friv/attendance.cgi

Yes, the Sharks' management/ownership is a hopeless morass of incompetence, and DW left the finances so crippled that it would be difficult even for a good GM to extricate the team from its woes.

The rebuild was bound to happen, but DW's delusions delayed the start of it. All their woes can be attributed to EK65's trade/re-signing. We'll only find out in a few seasons whether GMMG can right the ship in a few seasons, but i have my doubts after the Burns trade.

In a way, I'm glad that attendance is at rock bottom, as it will be added pressure on management to get their shit together. Until that happens, I'll gladly go to the Cuda games.
