My fear: The Sharks will lose the Tankathon once again with Couture and Sturm back and Granlund close to returning,

Barring any significant loss of key players before the TDL, the injection of Couture and Sturm will likely improve their winning percentage just enough to improve their standings above the Ducks and Hawks.

The '24 draft is not as deep as '23 and the Sharks already lost on Beddard and likely wont get Celebrini. Imagine the Ducks adding Celebrini on top of Carlson, Zegras, and just recently Gauthier. Equally daunting, Chicago could land Celebrini as well.

The Sharks won't benefit right now from a singular "star." They need a very well executed several-year rebuild across the board. This takes very astute and clever management, and it's anything but clear that the Sharks have that, presently. DW's damage was profound and lasting, and there's no quick way out.

Tough to predict. This teams has gone on two double-digit losing streaks. Let's see if the wins are a real trend. I will say that Chicago, in particular, gets very serious about throwing games at the end and it will be very tough to "beat" them.

Pertinent to my last post, look at the gigantic impact that Bedard has had on Chicago performance. When teams don't gradually renew, but instead pile on to the end, very long bad periods ensue.

i doubt we'll see another double-digit losing streak this season.

Chicago's probably behind the Sharks in terms of prospect pool and their rebuild. The Ducks however are stacked and have a very bright future.

The other camp always points to the Penguins. They were rock bottom, and got 3 #1s, and a #2, and turned them into Fluery, Crosby, Malkin and Staal. A franchise to order. The Sharks are that awful that they will be drafting top 5 for the next 5 years. I guess it's incumbent on them to get the right guys.

Couture could get hurt very easily again, and this team can give up goals quickly. It's really hard to predict, but safe to say there will be a couple more losing streaks.

Think there may be a wee bit of difference between Craig Patrick and Mike Grier. We can hope for miracles, though.
