Verify curiously convenient to do this procedure as players like Granlund and others are coming off the IR. Also Couture is day-to-day. Seems more like a ploy to avoid having to waiver assets Grier was banking on flipping for draft picks.

More classic errors. Holding onto veterans until their trade value nosedives due to age and injuries, even though there's no hope whatsoever to contend in the short term. Fans aren't paying to see Hertl or Couture, so what was the point? The Sharks are now last in the league in attendance (vs capacity), This is a franchise that has made a smart move in years, and the outlook is hardly promising.

Also reports are there's next to no interest in any of the players Grier acquired in hopes of flipping. :-(
The Sharks are tanking at tanking. So far, they only have Smith, Eklund, and Muk as "1st tier" prospects.

Chicago and Anaheim have a proper strategy in place.
