It follows Bylsma around like a bad reputation.
Bylsma's got a great system - if you don't want to go far in the playoffs.

Penguins powerplay is a f***ing JOKE!!!! Every time they were on the
powerplay last night, it looked like they were on the penalty kill, and
Tampa Bay was the one that was on the powerplay instead.

And once again Fleury tries to SIT on the puck ( Tampa's 3rd goal ), and
the puck goes under his ass, and into the net!? WTF!? This is what he
did in the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals against Detroit, and we lost.

So, what Fleury and Penguins team shows up for Game #7 on Tuesday
night!? The good, the bad, or the ugly!?

I'm noticing a handful of things from this series. First of all, the Pens
announcing crew mentioned last night that there has been only one team win a
playoff series without scoring a single PP goal: 2003 Ducks. Guess who was
on that team? The Pens have one so far this series, so it's not like
they're going to set a record or anything! ;-) Second of all, and I'm sure
Tampa has noticed this also, but the Pens don't have a legitimate scoring
threat right now. It's scary when Tyler Kennedy is consistently leading the
team in shots. Don't get me wrong, he's a solid player, but he's no
superstar. Without Crosby and Malkin, this team has no go-to scorer, and
they really don't even have a consistent sniper like Gonchar. It's a flawed
offensive team, no question. I don't blame Bylsma, however. How many teams
could withstand losing their two best scorers for the second half of the
season? The defense and goaltending for the most part has been fine this
series. The problem is that the offense is anemic.

Ummm, could it be deadwood Chris Kunitz!?

The Pens were stupid for not at least trying to get SOMEONE at the
trading deadline, that could help put the puck in the net during these
playoffs. Like you said, it's pretty sad when Tyler Kennedy is our
"go-to guy". Staal can't really do anything, because he is being
double-teamed most of the time. Our defense is a joke, and trading
Gologoski was just plain stupid, and certainly didn't help, because at
least he could score on the powerplay.

When Crosby and Malkin both went down with inuries, this is when Shero
should have tried to get Ryan Getzlaf, or some other big power-forward
to help with the playoff scoring.

Bylsma is making a habit of bowing out of the playoffs in the first round.
I understand that Sid and geno are gone, but this club tallied up 106 points
this year - no small feat. Bylsma's "powerless play" is becoming his
hallmark. The Pen's powerplay sucked when Geno & Sid played....hmmmm, I
wonder why...
A team cannot expect to go far in the playoffs without being able to score
on the PP.

It killed them in this series, no question. 1 for 36 or something like
that. It's almost hard to believe. But I still stand by the statement that
they have no explosiveness without Crosby and Malkin and that hurts them on
the PP.

Kunitz did not join the Ducks until the next season, IIRC. He's referring to
Bylsma. I don't know that Bylsma had much to do with their PP but it is a
valid observation of the constant. Can't say if the issue for them at that
time was this same insistence on an outside passing game on the PP... or if
that's where he learned that same philosophy. At one point the other night,
the Pens had taken only 6 shots on goal in 5 PP's... I don't care who your
talent is, they can't score if they don't shoot the puck.

I'm not sure what he saw that made him think this was the way to go against
Tampa... it was not always the approach this season. When it *was* the
approach early in the season, it was not successful... so why did he revert
to and stick with it? I fully expected to see some line changes for games 6
& 7 or at least on the PP for game 7. His refusal to shake anything up means
he must have been convinced that there was something there... there wasn't.

I was thinking the same thing last night. The strange thing is that he
alluded to changes the day before the game, and then didn't make a single
one. I don't get it either.

Did I take a couple of Raffi Torres headshots? "Bylsma is making a
habit of bowing out of the playoffs in the first round"?? Really?
Because last I checked, losing one first round series out of three
does not come even close to a habit.

Hmmm, It took you TWO MONTHS to come up with that?
Paint me impressed!
