They should give Kordic figure skates, and he can use the toe pick to dig in,
and punch... probably wouldn't hurt his hockey, either.

Twist is to the point he punches so freaking hard no one wants to fight
him. He's the champ by default(almost).Shows you what some quality steroid
abuse will do to ya!!! Twist also happens to be cool as hell off the ice
too and is big in charity events.
Kordic is a waste-he used to be my favorite player but now he's just a
chump. No punching power at all and no hockey skills. What the hell would be
the harm of bringing up the Animal???? I know he takes a beating in this
NG-but he has the skills of Kordic(NONE) but is a very entertaining
fighter.

BZZZZTT!! Wrong. Try again. Brashear is a good fighter, but kick the
snot out of Twist? Are you high? He maybe can beat him two or three
times out of ten. Twist is the toughest. Noone's mentioned Chris Simon
either, who was voted top fighter in the NHL last year. I still think
Twist is the man. Kordic has taken Brashear decisevely. If I spelled
decisevely correctly. Brain-fart. Domi is a cement head who generally
gets out-punched by the top heavy-weights but still manages to generate
that serial-killer smile of his on the way to the box.

Here come the flame wars, but I have to put in my two cents worth.
I think these fighters, in no particular order, are the absolute best in the league.
Darren McCarty, Twist, Joey Kocur, Stu Grimson, Bob Probert (yeah, hes old, but I wouldnt
piss him off), and Tie Domi.

Twist is very big in charity events, and he is an avid weight lifter, no
steriods in his body.

No, they fought a week and a half ago, it was a draw. McCarthy is one bad

course, he's my favorite player too, as I'm a Blues fan.

In the pugilistic hierarchy here is my top ten in order right now (I
emphasize right now):
1. Tony Twist. The classic one punch knock out artist.
2. Sandy McCarthy. The guy is simply bad ass. No where near the strength of
Twist but fierce.
3. Chris Simon. He has slipped out of the number one spot due to injury.
Life goes on and he can regain it
again.
4. Stu Grimson. The Reaper is a first rate goon. I appreciate his ability to
stop once the guy is down but he is tough.
5. Darren Langdon. The guy is no heavyweight but he has fought just about
everyone to at least a tie. Stu Grimson still pounds him though. Darren has
scored a big win over Sandy earlier this season in Calgary.
6. Dan Kordic. Dan is definitely having an off year. A few weeks ago he had
trouble with glass jaw behemoth Eric Cairns of the Rangers. I am not sure
what it is, but Danny is not nearly as fierce as he once was.
7. Tie Domi. If shear toughness was the number one trait than little Domi
would be the man. Domi is fearless and fights a very tough fight. In the end
though, he is not going to knock out anyone (except for Ulf Samuelsson which
was very funny).
8. Paul Laus. Heads up people because this guy can fight and play.
9. Krystof Oliwa. I love the way this guy is in the fray every night. Not
quite the knock out artist but very tough and very ready to go.
10. A tie between Ray and Braschear. Ray's stock is down this year and
Brasheirs is up. Both belong on a list but I didn't have room.
Honorable mention: Two middle weights who are in the fray big time: PJ Stock
and Matthew Barnaby. I would love to see these two go. They are both rapid
fire punchers who do not hold the jersey. They just let em fly.
Toughest goalies: Gotta like Felix Potvin, Eddie Belfour and Ron Hextall.
But after seeing the way Dan Cloutier went at it, and his rep that comes
from Juniors and the AHL, you may be seeing a balance shift in the NHL very
soon. Looking for a goalie to go? In two weeks Cloutier of the Rangers will
likely have to face an entire Isles team that will want a piece of him. Than
we will see what kind of fighter he is.

Heavywieghts to be king and McCarty loves to pick on middlewieghts. He is

OK, maybe it wasn't all Leroux, but if Crawford hates Leroux so much, why
did Leroux play against the Blues last Saturday when Twist wasn't in the
lineup?? Why did Leroux play in the games leading up to the game I
originally referred to but all of a sudden didn't dress? Coincedence??
And even if Leroux wanted to play, he is still scared of Twist, because he
turtled the last time Twist dropped 'em with him(last year when Leroux was

were nothing compared to him. No current goon could have taken Stan the man.
Come to think of it I don't think there has ever been a tougher fighter in NHL

guy can press, that is irrelevant.

Nothing personal, pal, but Brashear is the original dancing bear. He
wrestles, he doesn't fight. I've seen Shawn "I Go Down Like A Sack Of
Shit" Antoski battle Brashear to a virtual draw on several occasions.
I've also seen Twist knock Antoski cold with very little effort.
Brashear may be very big, and he may look intimidating, but he ain't
shit.....

Stan shows up on a couple of hockey fight tapes I have, and he sure was one
helluva fighter. I think you are probably right in the pure fighting sense
that he may have been the best. I still like Fotiu because he seemed a bit
more off the deep end and was so utterly unpredictable. In one segment I
have, Fotiu is in the stands serving a suspension, and a melee breaks out on
the ice. During the action, some non-player moron on the opposing bench is
holding a Ranger out of the action. Nicky bolts from his seat, down through
the guts of MSG, down the ramp and jumps the guy and starts beating on him!
Yeah! You know, the role of "enforcer" is so much different now than then.
I mean, for as good as Twist, Probert, Tamer, Domi, et al are, todays game
with its modified rules and the Burke/Buttman team in the league office the
true enforcer is a thing of the past. The Hammer, Stan Jonathan, Tiger
Williams, Fotiu, Nilan; now those guys and their peers, they were ENFORCERS!

reached Worrell's chest. The fight was pretty much a draw, Domi wanted
to go with him again, but coach Murphy told him to stay away because he
didn't want tIE taking bad penalties. He stated this fact after the
game. Anyways I beleive Tie is the toughest, and if not, top 4 at the
very least. Pound for pound no question in my mind undisputed champion.
He leads the leauge in fights with 24 and counting. He has 346 pim
second in the leauge to Donald Brasher. Anyways back to my original
point, Tie isn't afraid of A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y. He'll scrap anybody regardless
`of whether he wins or loses. The ONLY way he will not fight a willing
combatant is if he's injured or has been told not to fight. Even if he's
injured he'll still fight. For instance he had a pretty good round with
Matt Johnson of the L.A Kings. He had a severly bruised hand and a bad
shoulder from a fight the previous night and he still went at it.

Big deal. The old time Flyers had lots of rules instituted because of
the way they fought..er...played.
Rob Ray? Hmmmmm.......seems to me, the last time I saw him he was
getting pounded by a Flyers goalie.........

Yep!! And he looked damn good doing it, too.......

I think even Gene Hart would choose Dan Kelly.
My pick is Don "He hit the fucking post" Earle. Same play, just reverse
the players: "Lonsberry was tripped by Unger", then becomes "Unger
tripped going past Lonsberry".
Ahhhh....whatever you say, Don.

Gotta check out Bill's, man - you guys HAVE to check out Bill's - he runs
a food truck on 33rd street, about 50m south of the intersection with
Walnut. Huge Flyers fan, to boot.... do yourselves a favor and go get a
steak there. Tell him I said hi, while you are at it as well...

Any fool can make a painting, it takes a wise man to sell one
Does he cook the steaks there?
Yes and no. He was there. but Ottawa recalled him. Just as well, he
fallooned up to three-hundred pounds, and was forced to go on a cabbage
soup starvation diet. Now he's 299. They didn't do too well with Fatty
anyway, as he ate well more than their profits could cover.
Imagine that, Falloon a liability.

I don't think anybody would doubt Tie's toughness or willingness to
fight, he's just not one of the ELITE fighters. He almost seems to
enjoy getting hit, and the fact he is so small means even if he
doesn't win it doesn't matter because of his size. Tie is top 10.
