Morganti was never a rumor starter. I always liked him because he didn't
get involved in that crap. It must be the WIP influence.

Even I think that deal stinks.

That's what reporters do, once they get too lazy to do any work..

Yes, this is obviously another rumor that originated from deep within the
confines of the rumor-starters fat ass.

The Detroit NG is abuzz with the suggestion that Clarke and the Wings
are talking about moving Lindros to Detroit.

They're even discussing possible offers. Current fave is Shanahan and
Kozlov for Eric...but a lot seem to think that's way too much for
Lindros.

Let's see....two guys older than Lindros, one of them in serious decline
from wear and tear and due to be an UFA in a year. What a steal for the
Flyers!

This rumor was started in the Boston Globe and they quoted a source from
ESPN. Al Morganti sounds like a likely shit stirrer. He needs a serious
cross-check in the head.

Did you miss his intermission "non-report" about Lindros trade rumors last
friday evening? He had absolutely NOTHING new to report but acted as if he
had a scoop. That is what he is about. Like Ed Webb except he gets paid for
it.

ESPN was blacked out here because we have Comcast Sportsnet, which carried
the game. So I didn't get to see his report.

You really didn't miss anything since there was already a thread about his
intermission report, I'll give you the Cliff notes.

ESPN: Comig up at the intermission, is Lindros on the trading block? Al
Morganti has the details of this big story out of Philadelphia.

Intermission.
AL Boreganti: Lindros contract up at end of season. Clarke under gun.
Speculation in Philadelphia that Clarke may look to trade Lindros. I'm not
saying Lindros is being traded, but the Flyers may consider it (his own
speculation) end of story.

The words may not be exact but that is what he had to say, he quoted no source
only what he dreamed up. Pure bunk.

Just a thought--perhaps this was news to the rest of the country seeing
the game, even if it wasn't news to those of us who follow the Flyers
regularly. It was a national telecast, not Comcast Sportsnet.
