Once you get past Kane, Kessel and Parise I don't see alot of scoring
threats.

Bobby Ryan has 19 goals 34 points... That's more goals than any of
the 3 you listed.

Stasny is no slouch either. With Miller in net, the US can certainly
steal some games.
That said, I don't like the defensive selections. Komisarek over Zach
Bogosian? Dumb. Ryan Callahan? I'd take a Guerin or Gionta first.
Seems like the US is in a transition period. The old guard has retired
or is over the hill, and there aren't a lot of quality 'veteran'
forwards and D-men in their late 20s/early 30s. In four years, when
guys like the Johnsons and Bogosian have developed on D, and
(hopefully)
JvR is a top scorer, Team USA will be more of a threat.

Gotta say that the US/CAN game was a delight to watch, even if the
zebras reffed it like a typical NHL game. The fucking shootout needs
to go away forever, though. Those kids deserve much more than that
and they're not even making top dollar yet.

Had a couple of friends over and when Canada tied it, we all were saying
how we didn't want it to go to a shootout because we all hate it. But
the game was entertaining as hell, which is why the tournament is so
popular up here.
Speaking of the shootout. It occurred to me that no hockey fan I know
likes the shootout. And yet, they said that they brought it in after
the lockout for the fans. Hmmm, another example of taking your fans for
granted while trying to force feed the game to those that know of it and
care not for it. I'm going to Phoenix for the last week of January and
probably will go to a Yotes game if they're in town, only because I'm
interested to see if anyone bothers to show up.

First off, Overtime is Sudden death, then you go to the part of the
Shootout that isnt
whats up with that?
then, there is no game winning goal in the shootout, you get a generic
goal for winning it.
