Jamie
Lundmark Name: Jamie Lundmark
Position: Center
Shoots:
Height: 6-00
Weight: 180 lbs
Birthdate: February 05, 1981
Hometown:
Acquired: Draft 1999, 1st round (9th overall)
History Shifty skater with GREAT acceleration.... doesn't get a lot of pretty
goals...is a natural scorer but also a hard worker.... great leadership
qualities... a potential NHL captain... nice wrist shot... solid play maker...
could make the Rangers with a good camp but the team wants him to get
physically more mature... is a lot like Jeremy Roenick in size and playing
style... give him a year and you could have a 6'0, 200 pounds first line center
on your hands.... could be the steal of the '99 draft...could be the best
player out of the draft in 5 years... either way looks like a definite NHL
player based on heart alone.

Pavel
Brendl Name: Pavel Brendl
Position: Right Wing
Shoots:
Height: 6-01
Weight: 195 lbs
Birthdate: March 23, 1981
Hometown:
Acquired: Draft 1999, 1st round (4th overall)
History A smooth skater with extra gears.... a puck magent who see's the ice
very well... a natural goal scorer... strong on his skates and hard to knock of
the puck.....has the POTENTIAL to be a game breaking winger....some have
compared him to Mike Bossy.... played LW in the WHL but can also play RW...
might join the Rangers next season after a long look in training camp...
defense isn't good but not nearly as bad as some would have you think... a
legit blue chip prospect.

Johan
Holmqvist Name: Johan Holmqvist
Position: Goalie
Catches:
Height: 6-01
Weight: 200 lbs
Birthdate: May 24, 1978
Hometown:
Acquired: Draft 1999, 7th Round
History Holmqvist, selected by the Rangers in the 7th round in the 1997 NHL
Entry Draft, is beginning to look like a gem. Johan is the top goaltender
propsect in Sweden, and possibly all of Europe. He played in the World Junior
Championships for Sweden in 1997-98 and now plays for Brynas in the Swedish
Elite League. Johan is becoming a standout in Sweden, and recently led Brynas
to the championship (defeating MoDo, led by Daniel and Henrik Sedin) with his
spectacular play in the playoffs. He started all 14 games, and finished with a
2.39 GAA and .919 SV% in the playoffs. Johan has all the techniques and skills
to play in the NHL. He is a strong goaltender, expected to be an NHLer. The
Rangers have even flirted with the possibility of dealing Dan Cloutier
(although that is unlikely) because of how highly they regard Holmqvist. They
are trying to sign him to a contract and bring him over to North America to get
some experiece with Hartford.

Mike
Mottau Name: Mike Mottau
Position: Defenseman
Shoots:
Height: 6-00
Weight: 192 lbs
Birthdate: March 19, 1978
Hometown:
Acquired: 7th Round, 1997 Draft
History Mike is another one of the good defensive prospects the Rangers picked
up in the 1997 Draft. He has good strength for his size, and is very effective
at both ends of the ice. He is regarded by scouts as a solid defenseman, who
could become a good NHL player. He stars for Boston College on the blue line,
and he is even regarded by many as the NCAA's premier defenseman. As a
sophomore in 1997-98, Mike shared the Norman F. Dailey Memorial Award (as B.C.
MVP) with Blues' prospect Marty Reasoner, and won it again in 1998-99 as a
Junior. His 49 points in 1997-98 were good enough for tops in the NCAA
defensemen scoring race, and he earned Second Team All-America honors. He
earned First Team All-America honors in 1998-99. Mottau represented Team USA in
the 1998 World Junior Championships and in the 1999 World Championships, where
he was one of the top players for the US.
"He's playing 35-40 minutes a game. He's tough for his size (6-0, 192), and is
a smart with the puck and he plays with such enthusiasm. He does all the little
things it takes to be a good player. He could be the sleeper of our 1997
draft." Rangers scout Herb Hammond said, "His skating has to get quicker, but
he has a chance to make it because of his heart."
With Mottau's offensive instincts, toughness, enthusiasm, work ethic, heart,
ability to play 35-40 minutes a game, the Rangers could see Mottau on their
blue-line in the next few years. The Rangers are hoping that he turns pro and
forgoes his final year of NCAA eligibility so they can get a good look at him
in the AHL next season.

Heh...trading Clouts?!?

There really is no point in posting this information considering it is a year
old. It talks about how Lundmark and Brendl have a good shot at making
training camp LAST year. If anyone has some updated information on these
players, it would be much appreciated.
