That being said, I do like the direction that Neil Smith and John muckler are
taking this team, for the most part. Aside from my problems with playing Tik
(and a couple of posters made great points about regretting that Tik is around,
because it forces them to dislike one of their favorite players. I feel the
same way) ahead of guys like Malhotra and _____ ( insert your favorite
Wolfpacker), I like the way they've been constructed.
Watched Neckar closely last night, he had a few rough moments, but I did like
his ability to not get beat wide too often, along with his hitting.
Considering it was his first game in a while, I can't wait to see how he
develops. When he got here, I was afraid he'd be included in the Bure deal.
Still do. Hope I'm wrong.
This team reminds me of the Ranger teams in the late 70's; namely, some good
young talent that surrounds an againg superstar (then-Espo , today- #99 ). I
know there are differences, mainly we didn't have a Leetch-type then, but
that team had guys who were just ready to blossom in the league.
Looking at the 4 lines, we see each line now with at least one promising
youngster. From Knuble, who I raved about first when he scored his first
against the Isles on another great rush at MSG, to guys like Harvey, Savard,
Manny, etc.
And one forgets that Nedved is nto exactly an old timer either. The one thing
that has truly impressed me about Nedved is his speed in getting to defensemen
to forecheck. He constantly disrupted the Isle d-men last night, and forced
many turnovers. He certainly isn't the "perimeter player" he was the first
time around, and he really makes our entire team play with a quicker pace.
I've rambled enough, just enjoying this team's development, just hoping that
Burke will continue to wait on the Bure trade, for at the rate it's going,
the Rangers will be the only one who will take on that salary, and Burke will
be forced into a self-imposed corner.

true! tik is...well...tik. he's taking up MY fav wolfpacker's spot and i'm not
liking it. i mean, the guy's great in the playoffs, but what has he done
regular season? the only thing is, he is cheap. (i think.) but i'd still rather
see stocker.
I still don't understand why Muckler doesn't use tik as a Lidster-type forward
; that is , just plug him into a lineup because of injuries, or a needed
shake-up.
Let the youth of America (and Canada ...and Russia...and ...) play !!
