Now I know this is laughable and for his past bullshit rumors I have
sent him hate mail telling him that retards know hockey better than he
does but at least he has started acknowledging me in his rumour
posts...well in a veiled sort of way ;)

Patrick Marleau is another name that the Flyers could jump in on, but
that would require a trade...(Hey we have Rathje.....) But I would be
more surprised to see the Flyers put together a package close to that of
the Habs which is rumoured to include Higgins....depending on who you
believe...BEFORE YOU HABS FANS GO NUTS....I would not trade Higgins for
Marleau straight up...I am just relaying rumours here...rumours are not
personal endorsements..

Hence my initial cool reception to the idea of acquiring Marleau, per
the other thread on it.

Marleau = "nice to have".

Marleau for the kind of assets in return that San Jose would probably
want (which, yes, probably should involve Higgins)... no. Simply no.
Not even worth talking about considering that you'll either have to
pay Marleau $6-7M or lose him to unrestricted free agency after a
year.

Higgins right now, today, is more valuable than Marleau ever was or ever
will be. We're talking a future captain here.

Fucking nuts to even talk about it. I could hear the laughs from the
Molson centre now- "You want who for Marleau?" - can you imagine just
for a minute trading Higgins who you have rights to for the next few
years for a guy who will be a UFA come year end and will walk?

I'm telling ya, if that trade ever happened I'd resign from the Bob
Gainey fan club and lump him right in there with Houle.
