So yeah, bring him over. The Habs are about as desperately unfit for the
NHL as they could be. Lebeau won't prevent them from finishing last, but
his offence might provide a sliver of entertainment.

I wonder. If last season is any indication, Lebeau may be winding down. He
had just 34 pts, only 12 goals. Paltry. Lonny Bohonos had 60 pts. Petrov
racked up scoring championships with 93 and 87 pts before his return. Heck,
Craig Ferguson outscored Lebeau last year!
Granted, Ambri-Piotta seems to have fallen on hard times. But Paul DiPietro
was 5th in the league and 3rd in goals in Zug. Maybe he deserves the recall
more? :)
I always loved that Ferguson guy in Fredericton. He can be one of Lebeau's
wingers.

And Dipietro can be the other. Call it the Swiss Army Line, though with
these guys maybe the Swiss Miss Line would be more appropriate.
So okay, I woke up this morning, checked the newsgroup and discovered that I
apparently have endorsed the idea of bringing Stephane Lebeau back to the
Habs. I have only a hazy recollection of doing so. I am afraid to wonder
what other bizarre things I might have done yesterday. Chalk it up to
despair brought on by the eve of the new season. Scary. I feel better now
though!

p.s. What about recruiting Space Aliens from the hockey-loving planet of
Blogon 7 to play for the Habs? Space Aliens are skilled and play a fast
transition game, plus they stand over 7 metres tall and see the ice very
well due to their X-ray vision. They care not for money, offering their
hockey skills in exchange merely for maple syrup and plutonium waste. They
are willing to learn French. Whad'dya think!?

Dammit, no way! First the Yanks came and crowded in our game, now half the
freakin' team is European. Let them make their own maple syrup and plutonium
waste, I say. Our good Canadian boys deserve a chance to play in this league.
Those damned Blogons have no heart anyway, everybody knows it. (At least, the
autopsies the Air Force performed seem to indicate that). They could walk into
a corner with a dozen eggs in their pocket and emerge with not a single one
broken! (Never mind that they're 7 metres tall and their pockets are out of
stick range of Zdeno Chara).
Hockey is Canada's game, it's part of Canada's heritage, and we don't need any
Space Aliens stealing our game!

Dear Don Gerry,
Would it help if I mentioned that Blogons don't wear visors?
