Does anybody know where former Redskin kicker (and former Maryland Terp)
Jess Atkinson is now, and what he's doing? One of my favorite Redskins
memories is of Jess, being carried off the field on a stretcher, with a
broken leg, yelling at his teammates and exhorting them to go on and win
the game...

Good Ol' Jess is a reporter for Washington DC television station WRC
(Channel 4). He is a weekend sports anchor and does occasional spot
stories on a variety of (non-sports) topics.

He's actually been a sportscaster on one of the local TV stations for a
number of years.

Jess Atkinson is now a TV reporter for NBC-4 in Washington D.C.
He's evolved from sports reporting to human-interest stories.

Yes he does broadcasting. He started as a sportscaster on Channel 4
(the NBC affiliate here in Washington), but now he has branched out and
is doing a variety of "on-site" stories about everything.

Jess is doing sports for one of the TV stations in DC. I saw him his first
year and he was horrible. I visited DC again last year and saw him again. I
think he's getting the hang of it.

And a pretty good reporter at that. Good sports broadcaster but has
really found his calling doing those human-interest stories.
