I only lasted to H/T (zzzzzzzz). From what I saw, OT Bulaga was more
impressive than I expected. Dwyer & Morgan didn't excite. The Iowa DE,
Clayborn, looked better than D.M. to me, but he is returning to school.

Same thing happened to me - The type of offense played puts me right
to sleep.
I liked Buluga too. We need a LOG, a starter and depth all across the
OL. It's rare to have so many highly rated OL and DL so we ought to
really be able to stock up on fat dudes.
Contrary to the rambling of some, it has been forgotten by some that
you can have the best WR's and RB's in the league and they aren't
gonna do a damn thing if the OL can't open holes and provide pass
protection.

A good running game is the young QB's best friend, to be sure.

gb: Exactly. What if Freeman had the time to execute that the Atlanta
and Baltimore rookie qb had??? Too many times he was running or trying
to.

Wide receivers who can occasionally get open and actually catch a ball
thrown their way help too. Not one WR on this team even had 40
catches. And Mike Clayton, the "great down field blocker", had a
whopping 16. he does nothing that a scrub like John Gilmore isn't
capable of.

I aggree and I think Clayton has surpassed his usefullness to the
team. Along with Bryant, we really do not have that much talent at WR.
You can't keep throwing the ball to your TEs and RBs all year long.

Oh we definitely have to upgrade the WR corps. I think Bryant is done.
That torn meniscus he had will cause that knee to swell after every
game (or even practice) and he will continue to miss many games.
As far as Clayton goes, pick a gal off of Sacred Heart's girls rag
team. She'll get more receiving yards.
You know people want to give mo a pass because...because...because he
gives really good chest bumps?
It is the job of a HC and GM to assemble a competent staff and pick
the right players. If you argue otherwise, then teams would simply run
on autopilot. Players and coaches would be knocking on the door.
Or maybe someone will come up with a new IPhone app that does the
drafting, picks the staff, and calls the plays.
