This is about the only silver lining to me, the fact the team is sticking together & not pointing fingers or whining about bad calls & tough luck. I'm convinced we're going anywhere but Disneyland after this regular season ends but at least we may be watching the ground being laid for better seasons ahead.

Go Bolts !

Maybe you missed Weddle's post game interview. He talked at length at how the D expected the offense to win the game and struggled getting their heads into the overtime. Sounded a little fingerpointy to me...even though the D still sucks way too much to criticize.

I haven't seen the interview but might guess Weddle was being more complimentary of the offense as opposed to slamming them. He doesn't come off as someone who snipes on others but who really knows?

I was a bit surprised at the excuse making for their failure to get a stop.
They so fully expected the offense to win and end the game that they let down and couldn't get their heads back into it....
a lot of BS as this D rarely has their heads into it based on their play.

We still go into the Prevent (should be Permit) Defense when things get tight. But then so do most other teams so I guess there's some school of thought that supports it. All I know is the teams that consistently win keep playing hard-nosed, tight D the entire game. And we aren't one of those teams.

Exactly, I hear guys say we don't have the players to play tight pressure D...so we play a losing scheme.

I say BS... if guys can't cover 1-1 then keep a safety over the top to protect, but playing soft zones full of holes that lets a good QB pick apart is just crap.
I'd like to see Rivers stats against a zone versus against tight bump and run.
I'll bet he takes a 40 point dump.
