I'll be away from the newsgroup for the weekend, at least, and will miss
the discussions leading up to the big game. Think of me a little bit
while watching football this weekend, if you would, and perhaps have a
drink for the dear departed. Thanks.
I'll be back online Tuesday. Go Eagles.
Jim
That's very sad, Jim. My thoughts to you and your family.
Maybe our boys can provide you a fleeting smile Monday night.
JonA
Sorry about your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
I'll have a drink for him at kickoff. Take care.

Wow, that's wierd. My wife's sister died this morning in a car crash as well.
I'm sitting this one out at home, so the youngin doesn't have to be near the
grief. Good luck Jim.

I've been going crazy waiting for Monday Night all week long. This game means
a lot to me as a fan, but just as a human being, a lot of things have helped me
put football in perspective.
Don't get me wrong, I will still be taking the phone off the hook ... but as I
root for the Birds, my prayers, starting now, are with you guys.
Jim and John, I had a scare of losing my brother-in-law in a car crash a few
weeks ago (you may have actually seen it on the news in Philly. Two kids were
hurt.). The scare was only for a little while before I found out he was okay.
My deepest sympathy is with you.
Rich, I am starting a business now. We will be up and running pretty soon.
Already it's like a baby, and I feel for you too. The good thing about
something like this is that it can be rebuilt, even when it seems impossible.
And, you certainly learn from it. I'm wishing you recovery like you don't even
think possible now. Everything bigger and better.
Take care guys.
RC
Thanks RC. We've been in business long enough to have contingency plans for
a situation like today's that we still hope we will never have to use.
You're right though, businesses can always be rebuilt. I hope it never
comes to that, however.
I don't mean to make light of the more serious situations that Jim and John
experienced today. I just thought it was weird that so much bad shit
happened on the same day to some of us in here. I don't post as much as
some of the regulars, but I seek solace by reading everyone's posts each day
just to escape the regular world for a while. It sucks that I wasn't the
only one who had a shitty day.
- Rich
sorry to hear about all of this guys.

As a parent, I know ho difficult it is for the kids. I'm not sure how old
your "youngin" is, but having raised two girls (now 21 & 18), and in the
process of raising #3 (she's 5), I do know that the grief can have a
profound effect on one too young.
Your family is on the Parker family's prayer list as well.
Rod
Please accept my condolences, for you and all of your brother-in-law's
family.
Best,
Lou
Sad to hear. I kid about almost everything. Not the loss of lives. I go
to church & the list of intentions gets longer every day. I'm sorry for
your family, John.
Best,
Lou

I appreciate your's and everyone else's thoughts. My wife is a tough cookie, I
guess you'd have to be living with me. Death is something we all deal with
eventually. I lost both my parents at a young age as well as the best man at my
wedding. I'm a little immune to it because I know how delicate it is. I take
nothing too seriously and deal with it the best way possible: with humor. My
brother Joe can attest to that. Just keep being yourselves, make sure you're
wearing clean undies when you leave the house each day, and , for god's sake,
tell someone where you put the key to the safe.
