Oh! I forgot! Bo also was the coach of the Raiders basketball team in last
year's Battle of the Bay at the Oakland Arena.

I thought Lincoln Kennedy coached that? Or was that the year before? Who's
the suite? Looks like Merton Hanks, but it's hard to tell without the
chicken dance.

I believe Linc was the coach the year before... he's AMAZING on the court by
the way, as is Ray Brown for SF, it's impressive to see such big guys get up
and down the court and grabbing boards, etc, but I guess that is what makes
them world class athletes. And yes, that is old ChickenNeck in the picture
with Bo... Hanks for the coach for the Whiners last year.
We went to this event for the first time last year, and unfortunately my
camera was broken at the time so I missed a ton of chances for great pics
from courtside! The upcoming game is a few weeks earlier this time, and as
luck would have it... my camera is not working once again. I don't think
we'll make it this time anyway. It should be a lot of fun this time around
with Jerry Rice playing in the S&B.
The big guns to watch in this game are Tyrone Wheatley, Johnnie Harris, and
Jerry Porter for the Raiders, and JJ Stokes and Terrell Owens for the
Whiners. Between Wheatley driving the lane and Rice bombing threes from the
perimeter, the Raiders should be able to defend the title they won last
year. These guys all take this very seriously, even though it's just a
chairty fundraiser in theory. We'll see how well Barret Robbins has healed
if he plays. They usually update the web page about a week after the game,
so hang on to the link.
