The Raiders concluded a busy day Tuesday by signing veteran fullback
Owen Schmitt.
Schmitt, 27, spent the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles
after a two-year stint with the Seattle Seahawks. He appeared in 61
games during his first four NFL seasons.
Schmitt, 6-feet-2 and 245 pounds, is a punishing blocker, especially
in the run game. The Raiders currently have Marcel Reece and Manase
Tonga at fullback on their roster.
However, it’s conceivable that Schmitt could force out Tonga at some
point, given he has more experience.
