Seems that along with the news about Pace, the Jets also announced the
release of Audrae Allison, and I guy that I have liked, albeit from
afar, Marcus Henry. Although not the fastest, he is tall, has long
arms and every time I've heard or read anything about him it was to
say that he had made a catch. Basically, the same is true of
Allison. And I think they are both out of PS options (as is Woodhead,
also an "I think"). Now, I'm not Ryan, Ellard or Shcott (and they know
their players far better than I), but those attributes suggest that he
might at least be considered for a look-see by many other teams,
familiar or not. Wanna bet that at least one of the three doesn't
wind up elsewhere? Say with the Bills, Fins, Pats, Ravens, or even
Browns?

I don't like this.

Johnny who do you get rid of in the receiving corps to keep Henry? I
am surprised as I thought Henry would be the last man. I wonder now
if it will be Woodhead & Taylor although for the life of me I see
nothing appealing in Taylor. Woodhead has some value as he can play
two positions.

If we can only keep 5 Wides, then you're right, John, we hold onto
these. But why only 5? Is that typical? And what about Rex's dictum
that he's going to keep the best players? Do we need 4 TEs (Mulligan,
Hartsock, Cumberland and Keller) more than another WR? And what is it
about Taylor should make me think that he's a keeper? Just a head
scratcher to me. ;)

My point, exactly, Gray. Curious too, is that they announced the cuts
AFTER the Giants game on Saturday night in which the Ravens lost
Stallworth. Sumpthin stinks here.

I don't get Taylor and there is a chance they are talking up players &
showing depth charts on Hard Knocks in hopes of distracting teams
There is also a chance that my Diane Lane calls me and my wife OKs one
affair.

We have a few problems with roster spots due to:

1. 2 FB's

We can release Faneca & roll the dice on a rookie & 2nd year guy at LG
but we need two roster dots for a position that touches the ball 6
times a year?

2. TE

I also saw where we keep possibly 4.We are running more & more 2 TE
sets but then get rid of a FB. The 2 TE sets Friday tell me you are
seeing more & more of rex's fingerprints on the offense. When Schott
had free reign under Mangini we never (rarely?) saw a 2 TE set & he
came from Mr TE in NE.

Last year at time we carried 5 WR plus Woodhead.
