The Giants will be the first. That's justice.

http://www.verizon.net/newsroom/portals/newsroom.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=newsroom_portal_page__article&_article=2726091

NEW YORK - Both the Giants and Jets wanted to open next season in the new
Meadowlands Stadium. Both will.

The NFL said Monday the Giants will play on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, and
the Jets will host a Monday night game the next day.

Opponents have not been announced; the full league schedule usually is
released in early April.

"After extensive discussions with both teams, we have come up with what we
believe is a unique approach for celebrating the opening of the new
Meadowlands Stadium," commissioner Roger Goodell said.

The Jets were given the privilege of closing Giants Stadium, fairness
dictates the Giants open the new stadium.

Goodell steps on his dick yet again.. and then... Woody drops his
balls. "Transparent" Lolz... He dropped his balls big time.

I actually like the Jets deal better. They play the first EVER
football game there in preseason. Jets fans will be the first ones
with their butt's in the brandy new seats. And, the Jets debut the
stadium in front of the entire country on Monday night. The ones
getting snaked are the guys that have to prep the stadium after the
Giant regular season opener.

And I'm pretty sure we know who that would be...:-) The Jets need to go all
the way now...change the name to the New Jersey Jets...if you think of it,
it makes sense now. OMHO, Papa Carl

I've been to both Jets and Giants home games. That contest would be a
landslide in favor of Jets fans. Woody should have asked for a rumble
and not a coin toss :-)

Yeah, winner gets the stadium named after them and that's teams colors
and 50 yard line logo are displayed for ALL games!

How about this?

Have the Giants play the Jets on Thursday (first game of the new
season, first regular season game in the stadium). Nationally
televised game, prime time. AND the winner picks the name of the
stadium.

So in that scenario who would be the home team? Same problem...

I may have missed the dialogue, but any other paranoid fans out there
who KNOW the league did not do the coin flip with a team rep present
because it was rigged?

Not sure why you Jet fans are so bummed. Giants opening the new
stadium just means Sheli and the Giants will get the first loss in the
new digs.

So what will be that Mon Night game/

Minnesota if Favre is back,
if not Pats?

I read earlier that it will probably be Dolphins, but maybe Pats.
