What money? They're already $20 million over the cap for next year.
Is Rex demanding that Woody change the salary cap rules?
Woody spent the money to fix the offense next year when he let them
talk him into extending Sanchez's contract -- as one of the top-paid
QBs in the league.

I remember asking, if Rex had so much controll over the offensive
personnel, then e.g., how come he was so public about how he didn't
want to draft Hill, didn't see how Hill could help, but Tanny and the
FO made that call?
If you answered that I didn't see it. How is that circle squared?
(BTW, Rex's judgment about O personnel doesn't look so bad there.)
"I would welcome you paying me two full years of salary for nothing --
just to go away! -- if *you* don't improve this team I presided over
building for you."
Hey, I bet he would welcome that!
I'd welcome that! Pay me two full years salary to go away, and spend
that money happily elsewhere, if you don't do what it takes to make
my job easier and more fun here!
What's not to welcome? :-)
In that sense, I don't doubt this story is technically true.
But in any meaningful sense, this sure bears al the traits of another
"I have column inches to fill to get paid and nothing but a bullshit
'sources say story' to write". ("Peyton Manning will never play
again", sources say.)
>"Ryan declined comment about his future when reached by The News. If Woodys not willing to do what it takes to fix the team, then (Ryan) knows hes better off being fired, a team source said. If Woody is willing to eat some money and spend to get us out of this mess, then its worth staying."

Mmm... could be.
>Is it possible that Rex did not screw the offense up ??? Was it Tanny ???
Who is the team's shrewd contract-managing capoligist? Who extended
Sanchez's contact? Is that not Tanny? I believe it is.
But then, Rex as HC certainly ran the O in practice, was in charge of
developing new young O players ('cough, choke'), and made the
strategic decisions (invest all pre-season camp changing from Ground
and Pound to Air and Dare, then after four games "Ooops, that didn't
work, quick! this week back to Ground and Pound, ooops again"), while
not knowing the O run-pass ratio in key games ("Schott, that's *your*
fault") ... so I wouldn't say his hands are clean.
IOW, it's just not the simplistic "it all one person's fault" scenario
you keep deducing -- first Schott, then Rex, then Tanny...
From the record of the decline of all parts of this offense in every
way over the last four years, there's *plenty* of responsibility to
share over *a lot* of people.
"It's all one person's fault" scenarios are wishful thinking. Then
just change that one person and everything's fine! Happy days are
back again!
No such luck.
If only...
