Just curious a bit here to see where contemporary sentiment is.

Teams I dont like... I only have two... Yep. I like the Fish and the
Pats and the Bills just fine :-)

1. Steelers
2. Cowboys

1) Patriots
2) Raiders

Rural? I'd say! Out in Florida's gator infested swamp, where Bwian
lives with his hooker mom in her rusty trailer, they all hate ANYTHING
NY. (NB: he can't spell "New York" and so has to use the abbreviation)

I thought this was a NY Jets NG. Fish and Raiduhs. Anyone else should
ask to be weaned.

Hear, hear. With the Pats just now squeaking onto my list.

They are just a better team. The fact that it dimished itself with the
asterisks makes even that not an issue.

Hated demands cause. Breaking jaws, hurting players needlessly, flooding
fields to prevent offenses from functioning in a championship game, ow
those demand a response.

Arrogance, a most detested characteristic (for me at least - and you've
certainly read my many rants about this quality in Tannenbaum, for
instance), is one of the qualities that was apparent to me in both those
Fin and Gayder teams that helped earn them a place on my most hated
list. It's that same patina of entitlement that has settled over the
Patsies of recent years that has earned them a place on my list, though
admittedly below the dirty duo we both so detest. But then you ARE sooo
much older than I. ;)

See, the thing is - the Dolphins are not the team they once were.

And regarding the Patriots, the reason why I don't like them is
because of Belichick. Not because they are a better team. It's because
of the "I resign as head coach of the NYJ" scribbled on a napkin.

Hammer man, if you think about it, the cause for your anger makes no
sense. Would you hate a girl who rejected you for another suitor? Don't
you have enough self esteem that you just figure she got what she
deserves?

As much as I hate being a Jet fan, I have to admit the Pats don't make
me as jealous as the Steelers or even Jints. Those teams don't have
asterisks associated with their championships. Their managers are not
morally bankrupt people (while I forgive players their peccadillos; I
hold management to a higher standard). Their success has nothing to do
with our failures. Woody has to confront the culture of losing and
insist his managers do too.

Until then, everything is moot.

And again, I agree. I'm not certain Woody will ever do that....actually I
think he is one of those guys who doesn't know how to do that. He is
surrounded by "Yes" people, and that rarely breeds the kind of atmosphere
that produces a culture of winning. Now, after the "culture" is created, a
certain amount of the yes, yes, yes stuff will work, because it becomes very
important to maintain that system. Systems that develop this culture are
ones led by someone who can listen, observe and make changes. They are not
totally ego driven execs but rather guys who will adapt a practice they see
elsewhere that works, it doesn't have to be their idea or come from within.

As far as hating other teams goes? I have a hard time hating any of them
except as some have stated the ones with all the arrogance and a false
swagger. I've always like a quiet confidence of sorts. The Raiders are not
likeable at any level because of their owner. The Dolphins pretend to be a
Florida team...most of the fan base comes from somewhere else, and they
don't seem really likeable to me. However, the current group is fun to
watch, I like watching that offense, but that is a different story. Now,
since love and hate often go together I have to come around to the team I'm
a long time fan of....no other team has caused me such pain, depression,
lost sleep and flat out frustration....I love being a Jets fan, but I sure
can hate the process sometimes.

Parcells has a tendency to create this effect. My God! He did it here
too.

Yup....creative football is fun to watch. The Jets haven't had anything
even near that since Tuna left.

Well - The rest of the AFC East newsgroups are at least discussing
football or at least their team....Bills fans are so disgusted that no
one is posting hardly anything there...Hell - even Mr. Dud doesn't post
hardly at all....pretty sad.
