I have knew respect for him...I actually think he nailed it....was just
questioning who would own up to the lack of getting it done...and I do not
think he was referring to players...it was all about offense and what is NOT
there. They are not prepared....it is an embarrassment to say the
least...they may be one of the worst prepared teams ever.

If you're any of the receivers, you can't be happy that you're going to
record less than 50 catches this year. Much less playing, blocking, running
your ass off, and not getting into a play. Gotta be boring as hell.

His clear implication though is it is ignored....covered up and they pretend
it is OK...damn, they knew they didn't have any prayer at running the
ball...and I'm talking about in camp...that's what all that "we're gonna
open it up this year" crap was about...they sucked and they knew it and did
little or nothing about it.

X-No-Archive: Yes
Papa, you are not a Schott fan. I am not sure who is to blame. My gut
feeling is Sanchez, Schott & Ryan twisting Schott up with what he
wants and in that order. If that is the case Schott is a wimp for not
quitting & Ryan is an idiot for not sacking him but with no OTA's
that might not have been a possibility.

In any event as one guy who does have experience who do you blame for
the OL? Don't you think & Ryan & or Schott said to Callahan can we
run our offense with Hunter & co? Can you fix Ducasse? This one
facet of the offensive issues surely doesn't get dropped in Schott's
lap.

Schott is the OC...if he was given total control of the offense and he did
not tell Rex how bad these guys really are..it is on him. But, Rex may be
one of those people who wants to hear what he wants to hear...and others do
it for him...then it's on Rex...ultimately it is ALL on Rex...he's the
freakin HC...he had to know this is bad...really freakin bad...bad as in the
worst pro line I ever saw...ever...this was not just getting blown away,
it's total collapse and it's guys looking like they don't know what the Hell
they are doing...THAT IS ABSOLUTELY ON SCHOTTENHEIMER...I don't give a crap
if Vince Lombardi is the OC...whoever the OC is is responsible for the total
offense...and he has to know they are unprepared..it's not ONLY bad
players...they don't know what the Hell they are doing.

Listen if I am coaching a position and the guy ahead never listens to
me on talent I don't stay long. You think it was a coincident they
took a chance on a Nebraska kid last year. My bet is that Schott --
one reason why I didn't like his choice as he didn't serve as an
assistant at multiple positions--is he can't fix the OL but my bet is
that Kubiak can't either. Plenty of blame on this one from Rex to
Callahan and obviously Schott.

The worst pro line ever come on....

Rex is obviously still enamored with Baltimore. He admits publically he was
angry and hurt when he didn't get that job. I really think he took this job
with conditions and one was Schott...and he did that and let Schott take
control of the O...and this is what it has turned into. I do think the guys
will stay for the paycheck...IF, IF...the paycheck means some appearances in
playoff games...that has a HUGE effect on their salaries...let's see who
hangs around when it goes down the tubes.

I know coaches take jobs w/ strings attached but Schott was signed
afterwards so who knows. Maybe Rex didn't want someone too strong
around or maybe he liked him. I don't know. My opinion on Callahan
judging talent, & probably a poor judge at that, is based on teh fact
I never heard Schott talk about the OL.

Callahan can't leave until his contract is up so it will be curious to
see what happens w/ both Schott & Callahan. Whether it is Schott or
Sanchez they need to find out by moving on w/ Schott as moving on w/
Sanchez would be too expensive.

Schott was on staff before Rex...and when they redid the staff they said he
was staying...we have no idea what the Hell went on...but Rex did not go
look for Schott...he was there already and his Daddy was hanging with Woody
in the box regularly too.

Schott was there before Rex and Woody and Schott sr are good friends.
IMO Schott was forced on Rex.

Rex brought Schott in...

Schott was there before Rex who wrote otherwise?

Schott signed his last contract weeks after Rex was hired.

The only place I ever seen reference that woody & Marty S are friends
has been here based on the fact that Marty showed up at camp. Marty
in case you forget was given a game ball by Ryan after beating the
Chargers in the playoffs. Maybe Ryan invited him for good television.

Really does any of you really know they are friends?

Schott was Mangini's OC therefore he was there before Rex.

So is he Woody's friend or Ryan' s?

Listen they could be golf buddies. I just never saw a reference to it
outside of this newsgroup.

Can you read? He was there before but signed a new contract for $2MM
after Ryan was hired.
