Been thinking about this one. Hard game to pick. I'm not putting as
much stock in Welker as others. His stand-in should do an adequate
job of it. Pats get no pass rush to speak of, but Ravens have gotten
back to running. Pats/Brady dont lose home playoff games, but their
defense is a real question. I have no idea what happens here. I give
the Pats the edge given it is a home game, and BB and Brady trump
Flacco and Harbaugh
Pats 27 Ravens 24
Jets-Bengals
Sanchez limited to 20 throws, Jets win the battle on the los on both
sides of the ball... Jets take it
Jets 24 Bengals 21
Eagles-Cowboys
Eagles have problems losing their Center on offense. Their defense
wont have the answer for Cowboys offense that is playing very well
know. Should be convincing Cowboys win
Cowboys 30- Eagles 23
Arizona-Packers
HUGE hit to Zona with injury to Boldin and Cromartie. Before those
injurues, I'd be sure Zona would take it, but this swings it favor of
GB... Still... Zona plays MUCH better when it counts on defense, and
they still have Breaston and Fitz on offense. No question it will be
a shootout, but I see the Zona defense stepping up and making the
differance here...
Zona 36-Pack 34
Just curious, do you know that Zona means prostitute in Hebrew?
Stuart
Nope... But it means "zone" in Italian. Put them both together...
"prostitute zone" or Las Vegas
Just a comment on the Bengals Jets. I think the Jets have allowed 3
TD's in the last 4 games. Your give a team that struggled to score 17
points against KC 3 in one game.
the last two games the jets played were treated like preseason games
by colts and bengals. you could say that the recent jet stats are
straw man stats
bengals will probably put up two td's with thier offense, and I'm
figuring that they get some points as a result of a turn-over... may
be cut it down to from 21 to 17 would probably be more accurate.... so
yeah... may be 21 too much
Man, that Eagles Cowboys game will be a good one. I'm gonna go with the
Eagles though... 31-13. I don't think Pats-Ravens or Arizona-GB will be
as high scoring as your predictions though. I think the Packers take it
20-10. I'll say Pats 20-17. Jets-Bengals...no idea. Rookie QBs are
too hard to predict.
how do you see the pats game going ???
Too hard to tell. The Pats have been Jekyl and Hyde all year. And a
lot of the Ravens struggles have come from penalties, and it's too hard
to predict how that will go.
My guess is that the Pats play more 2 TE sets than they're used to, but
they still won't be able to run against the Ravens. So it will come
down to whether they can get Baker involved in the passing game, whether
Watson drops balls all day or looks like a top tier TE (he can go either
way...), and whether Brady is on the same page as Edelman. Lots of
variables. I think if you're the Ravens, you bracket Moss and you spy
Faulk whenever he's on the field. Welker can take the big hits across
the middle from the Ravens -- but it's not clear that Edelman can.
With Wilfork and Warren back on the field, and Mayo starting to play
better, I don't think the Ravens will have as much success on the ground
as they hope. But it will be successful enough to leave the Pats in
their 3-4 for most of the game, which will eliminate any chance at a
pass rush. I know the Pats will be gameplanning to take Mason and Rice
out of the game, so I can see Heap having a big day. Still, I don't see
the Ravens putting up more than 20. The question will be whether or not
Brady can get in sync with his receivers.
Who do I think will win? Flip a coin.
Jets D has been stingy giving up TD's most of the season and it
appears to me they are firing on all cylinders now. I give the Bengals
one TD in the game and a 3 or 4 FG's. I mean how many teams have we
stoned on the goal line this season.
I know Mike, it's a strange feeling having a Jets Defense that is this
good. Embrace it.
interesting you pointed out Heap. He finished the season in monster
fashion.
ROFL
Most of this weekend depends on the weather IMO. All bets are off when
the Dome games start. FYI, Football was meant to play outside. Minn
and Indy can SUCK IT!
That being said. Kevin Faulk will tear them a new ahole with dump off
passes. Patriots win. Ravens whine about the refs.
yeah... i agree... football in a dome ??? wtf is that ?!?!?!
I guess Welker was a mistake too?
Brady used to spread it around more because he had better 3rd options
than Sam Aiken and Isaiah Stanback.
Reche Caldwell was not a good option. Hell he cost them a SuperBowl.
'06 had no good receivers so he couldn't force it to anybody. But in
'07 he had Gaffney and Stallworth as 3rd options. In '05 he had Brown
as a 3rd option. In '04 he had Patten as a 3rd option. Currently, the
closest he's had to 3rd options are Edelman (who missed a lot of time)
and his tight ends, who have been held in to block >50% of passing plays
this year. The Pats need to bring in a 3rd receiver for next year,
unless they think it can be Tate.
forget about tate. he going noplace fast. agree they need another
receiver, but cant use the first round pick on one. they will have to
get another receiver in fa and look to draft a guy like the tcu backer
hughes. unless they can also pick up a #3 receiver in round 2
What don't you like about Tate? I didn't watch him in college, but the
reports I read said that before his injury he was nearly on par with his
teammate Nicks.
No problem at all with him in college as far as his tools go. Was
looking to be a sure first rounder... Still... What will his post knee
injury(s) performance be like ??? Possible he could retrun to form as
a wr and return guy, but would you bank on it ???
Ask all those frozen Jets fans if they would have minded a dome
stadium last Sunday night. A friend of mine went to the game and he
told me he couldn't feel his fingers on the steering wheel after he
left in the third qrt.
i was at the game too. loved it. football is best when it is cold
out. when it is super cold out, those little heat packs are great to
use. i had toe warmers in my boots and heat packs in my gloves.
stayed nice and warm all game long
No way, wouldn't bank on it at all. He came back this year, ran around
a little bit, then hurt his other knee. So there definitely could be
some durability concerns with him. Or he just has bad luck. Only the
coaches know at this point.
The Ravens defense isn't what it used to be. Oakland was moving the ball
on them and if it weren't for Russell being total crap, that game would
have been a nail biter. I think the Pats are going to shred their
defense.
if by some means he mends and returns to form, he'll be much better
than a number three guy. before he got injured in college, was
looking like a top ten draft pick
Ravens had the top run D in the NFL this year. And in the first meeting
between the two teams, they were able to get pressure with the front
four. I think the Pats will have their work cut out for them.
That's the hope. The coaching staff has worked with him all year, so I
think they probably have a decent idea about what he might be able to
do. So, we'll see if they actively make moves in free agency or not.
If they do, then it's probably not a good sign for Tate.
I'm actually kinda hoping they try to grab Branch, who might be a cap
casualty. Brady would then have his old favorite receiver back, Moss on
the other side, and then Edelman in the slot while Welker heals.
branch would be ideal to have back.... dont the pats have two second
round picks this year ?

Pats and Brady will put up 42 plus
Ray Lewis will whine like a little bitch
Jets by 3
If Eagles win, that will really screw things up for Romo and Wade.
I hope you be right.
h
Haha let me revise my prediction... Word is that Moss injured his
knee in practice Wednesday. If he doesn't play, I don't see them
beating the Ravens.
