The loss of Brad Smith has a silver lining. Other than saving money
on his contract, the Jets will be less inclined to run all that pistol/
wild cat stuff that breaks the continuity of the offense. i would
expect that tom moore would advise them to run a "real" offense even
if smith was back with the jets, but smith's loss is a sure bet that
they will lay off that nonsense for good.

Tomlinson is more than capable of running the wildcat. He's had
success throwing the ball in the past (not that they let Smith throw
the ball more than once or twice anyway). I too hope that this is a
sign that Schittenheimer will reduce the number of times where he
absurdly upsets Sanchez's rhythm. But I won't hold my breath on this
one either.

So does an 1970's Ford Pinto, but it'd pass on one of those for a 2011
Mustang. The Jets need to run a real offense now and have no reason
for gimmics now that Sanchez can take the huggies off.

Inaccurate. The Jets deployed the Wildcat sparingly last year. Don't
make it out the Jets used the Wildcat as an integral part of their
offense, because they didn't.
