People buy into hype and forget Tom Brady was a solid way above average
game manager who can bring a team back if he had to. Randy Moss made him
Peyton Manning. Randy Moss made Donte Culpepper and Eddie George NFL MVP
candidates.
He also made Welker open underneath but no more. The party s over. The
Pats are dead.

I made pretty much the same post in the Pats group. :) Nevermind QB
ratings. Just count up the points and compare. 2007 & 2009 were the
highest scoring years in Belichick's tenure (2008 not included because
of Brady's injury, but the Cassel-led team still scored a lot).
This could be due to either Moss or Welker. Most likely, it was due to
having the combination of Moss and Welker. Moss would not be nearly as
effective without Welker (and wasn't, as we saw in last year's playoff
game), and I think we'll soon see that Welker will not be nearly as
effective without Moss.
Same conclusion though. The party's over. The Pats are dead.

O ye of little faith. Last I checked you still have a damn good team,
a HOF QB and head coach, albeit a confirmed cheater. Further I don't
think Moss is the WR he once was. Obviously the attention he still
commands does wonders for an offense, but I wouldn't be so quick to
pronounce your team dead. You can bet the Pats want to show all the
nattering nabobs of Moss-less negativity they can still compete at a
high level.

Winning our division and winning more games than any other team in the
AFC means some of you guys get to freeze your fannies off in January. I
would not mind playing Peyton at our house. If the Pats are dead, we win
one more game than many predicted at the start of the year.
