With very little fanfare, WFAN has taken over the mornng proramming of
its sister station, WNEW FM, with Richard Neer hosting a morning drive
(6-10 AM),on 102.7.

If you've enjoyed Neer's Saturday and Sunday morning, and other, gigs,
on WFAN, you'll enjoy this show: a good, sraight foward (while still
humorous!) sports show.

(Giants fans, of course, know Neer from his years as one of Big Blue's
radio stalwarts)

Harris Allen joins Neer as the 20/20 sports flash guy, and does a nice
job--particularly with the in-show discussion, with Neer... (Neer, more
than many of the oher hosts at WFAN, is particulary adept at involving
the update folks wITH the show, whether it's Joe Tolleson, Allen, Bob
Eusler, Jerry Recco or whomever! Here, on the new show, Harris Allen
brings a partcularly nice style.)

Neer, meanhwile, remains one of the deans of this type of format.

The only strange part is hearing almost the ENTIRE WFAN format, on a
different station!

It's good news for sports radio junkies (or sem-junkies,like myself):
For a while, at least, a local New York morning sports radio
programmig...

And this version of WFAN has a TOLL-FREE number!

:-)

Best, Jim

Now, if Allison Steele, the Nightbird, was doing field interviews for
MNF, that would be something. If there ever was the Queen of Rock, she
was it.

Want to hear her voice one more time? There are wav files here from the station
break, intro, etc:
