Denver seems to be in pretty bad shape with their best player out
indefinitely and a long list of injuries.
Lets see if Denver tanks this year because of it. I wonder if they
have a physical camp or its just bad luck.
I wonder if there isn't a threshold on how a team performs during the
season and how hard coaches push the players in camp?
For instance.
Does backing off in camp reduce injuries but still allow for a
successful season despite the fact the camp might not be as demanding?
Does or would laid back practices produce inferior team play during
the season even though it might help reduce injuries?
We know the amount of injures do affect team performance but is there
a point of diminishing returns on how hard a team practices so
injuries could be reduced and hopefully the best players are injury
free for at least the start of the season and will this produce a good
or bad team?
Or should team go balls to the wall no matter what because injuries
not with standing physical camps produces the best play possible from
that team?
Just some thoughts and I wonder if NFL teams actual look at something
like this? they seem to look for an edge anywhere they call, even
searching the garbage cans of the opposing teams coordinator box's :-)
It would be interesting to see all of the statistics if it were
possible.
