There are free newsreaders.
I think he needs an account on a NNTP server.
I meant free news server. DOH! For a one time fee of $4, Teranews is an
excellent choice.

Some companies block port 119 required for NNTP access.

With giganews, which is relatively cheap and excellent, you can use port 80
if you wish.
I am trying teranews. oh, yeah, now i have a killfile again!
another disincentive for using google - no killfile!

actually my company is paying for my home hi speed. I do off
hours tech support and need hi speed internet for that.
I wouldn't try it at work except during break - I am too busy
anyway.
