So this Chief's linebacker shoots his girlfriend and then blows his
brains out. Talib doesn't look so bad now, eh?

Too soon?

No, it was the ultimate selfish act of a moron who has devastated the
lives of a number of people, including those who evidently got to watch
as he blew his brains out. Real nice. I suppose if I *thought* the 3
month-old daughter was maybe reading this news group I would scold Mr.
HVAC for his insensitivity. However... as it stands, this is just one
more selfish piece of shit who has taken the coward's way out. The
world is a cold and terrible place and this guy's acts deserve to be
ridiculed. Maybe if we stopped with all the sad, slow piano music and
paint these idiots as the fools and cowards they are, it wouldn't seem
like a "solution" to them, though God only knows why it seems that way
to some as it stands.

I figured this Chief's player, after seeing how far coach Spagnano
went for the Colts, decided to make a play for sympathy even bigger
by killing his wife, then blowing his brains out. It worked...The Chiefs
won today.

It's not too soon for this, is it?

Maybe if they hand Crennel an AK-47, the Chiefs can make it to the Super
Bowl?

5:49pm (EST-1) From: euph...@minspring.com (euphemism)
======================

I've known some people who have taken themselves out of the game.
Several were hard-core alcoholics who coudn't get clean despite AA and
detox. But there was one I can undersatnd...

His name was Bob. He'd served in the USMC. While doing desert training
at the Twentynine Palms Marine Camp in California, the Humvee he was a
passenger in flipped over. The driver was killed and he was trapped in
the wreckage for 14 hours in the hot sun until the wreck was discovered.

Suffering heatstoke and dehydration, he hovered on the edge of death for
several days, and recovered.

But the sun had cuased some brain damage- although his intellect was
intact, he had developed epilepsy. He was given a medical discharge and
was in VA treatement for over a year.

The doctors found the right drug combination to prevent seizures, and he
began to rebuild his life. He learned the mechanics of injection molding
(plastics) and became a machine techician. He had acquired a drivers
license and often went hunting with his father at their camp in northern
Vermont.

Then, at a routine followup at the VA, a pharmacy technician fucked up
and gave him the wrong dosage of the drug prescribed. It was a true
fuckup- he simply grabbed thr wrong pills and never double-checked.

Bob began siezing again. A brain scan at the VA showed irreperable
damage due to the drug error- he couldn't be treated any more and would
face seizures for the rst of his life, He had to quit his job and
surrender his driving and hunting licenses.

Unable to cope with that diagnosis, he drove himself to the camp where
he blew his brains out.

His parents discovered that it was impossible to sue the VA; the best
they could get was an assurance that letter of repremand would be placed
in the phramcy tech's file- he was civil servoce and the VA couldn't
even fire him.

So sometimes there is a reason. Yes, it might well be wrong, Yes, since
we live in a self-centered society that's part of the problem. But
unless we somehow reform the entire culture, it's going to continue.

That having been said there is buzz that it may be related to a
concussion he suffered recently.

Another perfect example of giving it up for the team is that dude from
the Dallas Cowboys. He KILLED his friend AND got himself arrested for
vehicular homicide.

Note: The Cowboys won. Suggest a trend?
