Ok, in honor of the bye week, here's a vacuous question:

Who will Scott Pioli's wife root for in the Sunday night Bill bowl ... her dad's team or her husband's team?

(I'm guessing she'll root for the Pats, since that's where the bread is buttered).

Then again, maybe Mrs. Pioli *will* root for Tuna's team. According to the
last paragraph of Pioli's official bio on patriots.com, his wife is named
... Dallas Pioli.

"Scott Pioli was born on March 31, 1965 in Washingtonville, N.Y. He is an
avid baseball fan. Pioli currently serves on the board of directors for
various non-profit foundations and was actively involved with the Bowery
Mission, located in the lower east side of Manhattan, while with the Jets.
He remains actively involved fund raising for several organizations in his
hometown (Washingtonville, N.Y.), and recently established the Rose Pioli
Scholarship in the name of his grandmother to benefit children of educators,
professional firefighters, police and other emergency medical service
providers. Scott and his wife, Dallas, celebrated the birth of their first
child, Mia Costa Pioli on July 1, 2003. "

According to the following excerpt, Tuna raised his daughter to hate the
Cowboys...

"Bill Parcells has a tougher road than [daughter] Jill. He will have to
convert a family of Giants, Jets and Patriots fans into Cowboys fans. It
isn't going to be easy.
"When my dad called me and told me he was talking to the Cowboys, I almost
died," said Jill Parcells, who canceled her trip to Fort Worth when her dad
told her he would be busy moving. "I said, 'Dad, all my life you've taught
me to hate the Cowboys, and now you're going to tell me to root for them?'

"I can't tell you that I'm a Cowboys fan, quite honestly -- at least not
yet. But obviously I want my dad to succeed, and you know what? He'll do a
good job there. I don't know how quickly he'll succeed, but give him some
time. He'll change that place."

Then again Parcell's wife (Dallas's mom) dumped him last year. So she might
feel like this is a payback for all of those nights the Tuna stayed at the
Stadium instead of being a father.

In the end ......................who cares?

According to some good sources, Tuna strays with paid "talent." He supposedly
had a hooker in his room during the '96 Super Bowl week in New Orleans. He also
had a weekly "hair cut" scheduled behind closed doors with an attractive babe
during his days in the Foxboro bunker. -- John C., sec. 227

Y'know, the real reason that Parcells blew-off Tampa Bay, was because
of the divorce, or at least that is my crackpot theory.

When he went to court he did not want to show a head-coach salary
and thus minimize[ha] the alimony payments. Once the divorce was
over, he was free to take on a high-paying job.

As far as institution of marriage goes, Sam Kinneson, that distinguished
spokesman of our time, said, "Why should I be afraid of Hell? I was
married for two years; marriage makes Hell seem like Club Med...."

Anybody know where the Paioli's live? Are they settled into Boston area or
still in NY??
It would be great if they did live here with deep roots. Hoping to see the
Paoli/Bellichek team in place for many more years.

Well, since Tuna is now in Texas and Mrs Tuna is in Florida, one would think Dallas Pioli is satisfied to live (and raise thier new daughter) in a big house in a nice community somewhere here in MA. Pioli is clearly closer to his Gillette job here, and husbands usu go along with whatever keeps the wife happy, so maybe they are putting down some good roots here.

However, I wonder if there's any chance Tuna starts recruiting his son-in-law to come out and help scout talent in big D: 'Son, I want you to bring Dallas out here to Dallas and help me build another dynasty. Now you give that some thought, huh?'

Points well taken. ;-)
