the superlative "extremely adequate" on one occasion -- proving that
Sharp doesn't understand the concept of adequacy.

I had a roommate who used to describe certain restaurants we patronized as
"superbly adequate." Unlike Sharp, however, he used the expression
intentionally for comic effect.
