Favre's last interception was a good read. Looking at the replay, Lee was
definitely open. The ball was underthrown.

I think the play was there potentially there too, but

1) the throw was late
2) as you note it was underthrown (or possibly just too 'flat'/not enough
air under it)
3) the ball ended up heading outside rather than inside. I think if he had
been more toward the goalposts with the throw it would have had a better
chance.

I think he could have gotten away with the throw if he had done any two of
those three things better.

Again reading this week how Favre had a "terrible" game. Wasn't perfect and
the Martin throw hurt, but until the defense collapsed Favre was far from
terrible. He doesn't have pinpoint accuracy, and he never really did. But
guys have to catch the ball. Driver and Morency killed the game offensively
in the third quarter. You have to love how Favre is being held responsible
for not single-handedly bringing the team back from double-digit deficits,
as if that's the minimum standard by which NFL quarterbacks are to be
judged.

A real aficionado of interceptions, eh? Hey, I guess you're watching
the right team!

Analyzing Favre's ints is a full time job.

Well we know Grossout fans raised interception breakdowns to an art form.
Did he get Lasic? Better meds? Enquiring minds wanna know!

LOL!

That was Martin, but yeah, he had a shot. He just fired it in there,
instead of putting some air under it.

I only saw a few websites where they said he was terrible. That said,
he definitely changed after the Morency tip.

I don't know why he tries to gun it so much. Worked early in his career,
but he's lost the strength now. He certainly has the ability to throw
nice lobs. He did it earlier in that drive.

This was my take also; after watching the play unfold, my
immediate thought was that he took a stupid chance because
they were trailing (like he did so often last year). But
after seeing the replay, that was an easy touchdown if
the ball had been thrown 5 yards deeper.

Just a bad pass.

"Fired"???

That ball looked like a helium balloon with a slow leak on a breezeless
day.
