Are you sure it's this high this year? Reggie got about $9M last
year out of his $17M 4 year contract. I thought this year would
be more like $3M. Maybe I should look it up...

Maas is outta here.

Prior's in danger of being waived.

I've never heard of an exclusive FA. What aren't these guys
treated like restricted FAs? I(t's my understanding that any FA
with under 5 years NFL experience can negotiate with anyone, but
the Packers have right of first refusal.

When did they sign him? He appeared on the 49ers practice squad throughout
the last two years.
> Joe Mott LB
I thought he was on IR last year after being with the 49ers in the preseason.
Did they sign him as FA, via waiver or was there a trade?
> Brett Favre QB
Will Holmgren go another season with him? I think he mentioned that he isn't
sure about that. How about trying to get Bono from SF? Maybe Amp Lee would
be worth a trade, too. Both know the system pretty well. The 49ers need
some help on defense and have problems with the cap so both may be available.
With Rhodes signing as their D coordinator there might be interest in some
of the Packers' defensive guys. Although I don't know whether the interesting
guys are signed.

The P+ doesn't have Wagner on the list of FAs.
The P+ also lists:
David Grant DE mild
James Milling WR mild
> Restricted Free Agents - (May negotiate with all teams, but Packers

> Don Davey DL

Apparently the Packers' top priority in free agency will be to
re-sign their own players--makes sense. The players I'd really
hate to see the Packers lose include:
Tony Bennett LB high
Johnny Holland LB high
Bryan Wagner P ??
Ed West TE none (wants to return to
GB)
Doug Widell OG medium
Frank Winters C medium
It'd also be particularly nice to keep:
Darrell Thompson RB medium
Matt Brock DE medium
The others (except Clayton and those injured) aren't starters or
key backups.
The players Green Bay (IMHO) most needs to re-sign:
Tony Bennett LB high
Brett Favre QB
Johnny Holland LB high
Bryan Wagner P ??
Ed West TE none (wants to return to
GB)
Doug Widell OG medium
Frank Winters C medium
It'd also be particularly nice to keep:
Darrell Thompson RB medium
Matt Brock DE medium
>> Joe Mott LB
>I thought he was on IR last year after being with the 49ers in the preseason.
>Did they sign him as FA, via waiver or was there a trade?
Probably the same Mott. I know that Mott's been on a few teams'
rosters and spent a lot of time on IR. I don't remember more
details, though.
>> Brett Favre QB
>Will Holmgren go another season with him?
Yes.
>I think he mentioned that he isn't
>sure about that.
I must have missed that. It wasn't in the P+ or PR, and would be
a big surprise. I can't imagine either publication ignoring a
statement to that effect.
>How about trying to get Bono from SF?
The Packers already have adequate backup QBs, and Bono's not
likely to ever start in the NFL. He's seriously overrated by SF
fans.
>Maybe Amp Lee would
>be worth a trade, too.
Maybe.
