this year, we get Joey Galloway from where? he's lost for the season w/ a
torn ACL....
is it a curse? hmmm...
It gets worse than that. Just take Galloway. $42 million dollars. First round
pick this season and next. The picks seemed like a reasonable transaction.
Galloway is a legitimate first-round-type talent. Picks are hit or miss.
Cowboys picks are more miss than hit. Galloway is a relatively young guy, so
what the hey. Bird in the hand, right?
Now Galloway is out for the season. If you thought Galloway was part of the
puzzle that made the Cowboys a contender, then the draft choices were late
round and a good deal for the Cowboys. If you think Galloway's absence makes
the Cowboys bottom feeders, then the picks become early first rounders.
Seattle snarfs up talent (the way they opened, an early pick of their own to go
along with the Cowboy first-rounder). So as the Cowboys stagger under defered
cap numbers, unable to capitalize on a poor record because of traded draft
slots, unable to entice free-agent talent due to dim prospects, Seattle drafts
deep. Can you say Herschel Walker? The Galloway trade WAS NOT a bonehead
move, but in hindsight it may end up looking that way. No wonder Jones sounds
so depressed.

Yes it was boneheaded. Too many assumptions that everything was great and we only
needed one person.
