It was Rentzel (sp?) when he was a Ram. I remember a joke making the
rounds after the incident:

What is Rentzel's favorite pass pattern? Ans. The down and out.

BTW, Lance Alworth is a class guy.

If memeory serves, that would have been the not so suave Lance
Rentzel who dropped his pants in public. At the time, he was also
married to Joey Heatherton, one of the sexiest women to come down the
shute in her prime, and probably still is! Now you tell me? Did ol'
Lance have a problem or what?

It was Rentzel. Once, when he was asked if he was going to sign with the
Raiders, he said: "No. I'd rather stick it out in Dallas." (That's a joke,
folks.)

Alworth played for the Cowboys for some time also.

Actually, Rentzel started in Minnesota, where he had some problems. He was
traded to Dallas, and that is where the major incident occurred in 1970.
He immediately quit the team and was later traded to LA, where he had
several good seasons and no more incidents.

The Lance in question is Lance Rentzel (aka "No Pants Lance").

His football career and his marriage (Joey Heatherton?) both

fell apart soon after this. Poor mixed up guy....

What I'd like to know is what happened to him immediately

after this... Did the Cowboys trade him (and if so, to whom)

or did he just retire? Any Cowboy experts out there care to

evaluate his career as a wide receiver?
