Amid all the needless angst over some wanting
Pollard to be named 'starter' over Zeke Elliott (a
pointless exercise in my opinion what with both
players getting plenty of snaps during each game),
the following article points out what I mentioned
in the title (Nov 3 2022):
https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2022/11/3/23436886/dallas-cowboys-1000-yards-ezekiel-elliott-tony-pollard

... Tony Pollard currently has 506 yards through 8
games, while Ezekiel Elliott closely follows with
443 yards, even after missing a full game due to
injury.

... If all goes well for the Cowboys, the combined
effort of the two backs may be enough to etch
their names in the Cowboy’s history book as the
first duo of thousand-yard rushers, all while push-
ing their team to the playoffs.

In the 7 games Zeke has played in, he's
averaged just over 38 plays per game.

In the 8 games Tony has played in, he's
averaged just over 29 plays per game.

article, included in brackets]

Of interest, the following Nov 4 2022
article says Cowboys running backs
coach Skip Peete ... said that Pollard
said he was "done" after 30 plays in
Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10054640-cowboys-tony-pollard-said-he-was-tired-done-after-30-week-8-plays-rb-coach-says

... "[Pollard] played a total of 30 plays,
and I think that’s his max—as far as
total play count— because then the
juice doesn’t become the same and
he’s not as quick, not as fast," Peete
said of the 25-year-old.

... Pollard played more snaps in the
previous game against the Detroit
Lions (41), but he's only crossed the
30-snap threshold in three games all
season.

... Elliott ... is valuable as a blocker in
pass protection. [Pollard has, at times,
struggled as a blocker in pass protec-
tion]
