You apparently are disappointed your
Pats aren't on there, the Pats ranking
as just barely missing the playoffs as
the 8th-best team in the AFC (15th
best overall). Not to fear, close = just
might make it to the playoffs.

It wouldn't matter because I take polls or whichever title you name it as a grain of salt.

I never know why such articles appear before the season begins.

The course of a team can changed from week to week aka major injuries etc.

Dallas had a dynamic offense but crappy defense still most likely would've won the NFC EAST if Dak wasn't lost for the season early.

Crazy they assume that Rodgers will still be a Packer?
They assume the Saints without Brees will still be top level?
Denver?
I would think the Raiders before Denver.
Niners?.

Cowboys odds same as the Fins where one plays in a crappy division and the other in a tough one.
Colts are they automatically assuming Wentz is fixed?

It's possible to get +1400 if you think both (1) Rodgers is 50-50 to
play and (2) they would be +700 if Rodgers were 100% to play.

> They assume the Saints without Brees will still be top level?

They might think Brees was dragging down the team last year, and somehow
Payton has coached up Winston to keep all the upside and 1/4 the INTs.

> Denver?
> I would think the Raiders before Denver.

Denver makes more sense if it includes a substantial chance of including
Rodgers. Raiders have made many spec draft picks that haven't worked.

> Niners?.
Rams?

I don't think either is viable SB winner this year with a QB moving
teams, Stafford or Lance, and please don't get me started on Jimmy G.

> Cowboys odds same as the Fins where one plays in a crappy division and the other in a tough one.

I don't think good vs bad division should matter much toward longshot SB odds.
If you manage to catch lightning in a bottle well enough to win 4
postseason games, surely you will be good enough to manage a wildcard berth.

> Colts are they automatically assuming Wentz is fixed?

Fixing him is not enough. He was reckless and pigheaded.
He needs both fixing and improving.

One thing about long odds teams is that some people buy bets just
because they are fans. The sports books might sell nearly as many bets
at +2800 as they would at +5000 so why not cheapen the odds just in
case a miracle happens.

The odds of Miami even making the playoffs should be a factor over the weak NFC EAST.

Seeding, stress etc matters.
