The winters may be rough, but a recent survey says Cleveland is one of the
best places in the world to call home.
A London-based industry analyst group says Cleveland is the most livable
city in the country and the 26th best on the planet.
Mayor Jane Campbell says that's no surprise, given the city's world-class
health institutions, arts community and low cost of living.
"It's one of very few places where you have all of the big-city amenities -
sports, music, theater - yet you can still afford a ticket," Campbell says.
And you can't beat a city that offers all of that without the huge traffic
jams, says Rick Batyko, spokesman for the Cleveland Foundation.
Too bad we have to share bragging rights with Pittsburgh, home of the
Browns' most-hated rival.
The two cities tied in the Economist Intelligence Unit's study, which judged
127 cities on stability, health care, culture and environment, education and
infrastructure.
Clearly, the judges missed a few things, Campbell says.
We've got a lake, for one. And "the Cleveland Browns are so much more fun"
than the Steelers, she says.
If you're looking to relocate, Vancouver, British Columbia, topped the list
as the best place in the world to live.
Destinations to cross off your list: Algiers in Algeria and Port Moresby in
Papua New Guinea, which tied at the bottom of the heap.

different--we do not live off of the public--we make our own way--we both
love the Browns--sorry if that is not cool with you--we have three kids and
of the three--two is in the military and the third is going in next year
(not because of need but because of country--oh I am sorry is that bad?) One
of our kids is a 6 month Iraq war vet and is still out to sea and the only
way we get to contact him is through E-mail. You do not think we are under
pressure and waiting for the next report of violence?? How do you think we
cope with things--by letting go!! Yea--we are terrible people and going to

That being said, I cannot recall a single instance in the last 10 year
in which when just about any vile thing was said about me, that youse

But apparently this DMI guy who has apparently existed under some sort
of undiscovered prehistoric rock in N.E. Ohio has shown himself in a
manner that even YOU, who normally take pleasure in any verbal attack
upon me, find totally revolting. Can you say . . beyond the pale? But
when I say, "YOU," that obviously doesn't include the likes of Li'l
Greggie, who must be oh-so proud at having been taken unto the bosom
of that nut-case and proclaimed a brother in arms. As I'm certain you
will agree in your hearts, if not in your words, that Li'l Greggie,
himself, is at the very least border-line psychotic, but we've now
seen that term to be totally inadequate for application to our new
participant. I really don't know what to befittingly call such a

At any rate, it certainly has created a hub-bub and brought necessary
