Reason I ask is that I'm a Chicago-born native that spent my early
childhood years in NW Indiana--but have been in the Denver suburbs for
40+ years and we *rarely* get the Bears on TV on Sunday afternoons (I
guess I ought to call the local Fox-owned/operated station and
complain about it and see if it helps). Also the Bears rarely come to
Denver for a game as well (matter of fact I saw my very first NFL game
here against the Bears in the early '70s and saw a game where Dick
Butkus had a monster game as I remember).
I'll also check the Bears website (assuming they have one) as well.
Thanks in advance. Post here or email to above address both OK.

I'm up in Michigan and so in similar straits. When the Bears aren't
available on TV, I listen to WBBM over the net. Just one word of caution
though, I have had problems getting into their feed if I try and connect
just before or during the game. Because of that, I now normally connect to
their feed an hour or so before the game starts and simply stay connected.
I've never had a problem that way.
Click on the Listen Live Now button in the upper right corner. If you
prefer, AOL Radio offers a feed which can be picked up through them or you
can use WinAmp's Online Services (which is the method I use).

Thanks, Rick; and also to the other poster who followed up. WBBM-AM
is a strong 50Kw station that I can usually receive at night out here
in Denver with either my good house radio or my vehicle radio. I used
to also get WLS-AM the same way. I'll have to check the schedule and
try to pick up *at least* the end of a late Sunday afternoon start
(2pm here/3pm Chicago) and see if I can pull it in. Unfortunately;
the local FOX station in Denver *rarely* shows the Bears on Sundays
and its always been a deal where "when in doubt--show Dallas"... :-(
Thats a bummer since Denver has *long* had a reputation of having a
lot of transplanted Chicagoans/other area natives for lots of years.
Some even went to the extreme of calling Denver "the extremely far
west side of Chicago",,, ;-) Guess I could also go to the closest in
a chain of bar/restaurants here in the area called "Old Chicago" and
see if they show the Bears as well (but avoid their pizza)... :-)
I know its slightly off-topic and sorry for that--but as for other
strong Chicago AM stations; unfortunately; I can't get WGN-AM since we
have a station in Denver at 710AM; can't get whatever is on 670AM
anymore since we have a 670AM out here, and *never* could get WGN-AM
here in town (except for the *one time* years ago when the Denver
station at 710AM had transmitter problems and was off the air). I
have to get 100 or so miles northeast of Denver to get WGN-AM (as I
remember since I haven't been that way in years, but I get WGN-TV on
cable for my beloved Cubs) and we have a similar situation if one
wanted to try to pickup whatever is at 1000AM from Chicago.
I'll try the Bears website since I'm on and also curious if there is a
strong Bears radio network affiliate--like years back when WHO-AM out
of Des Moines, IA was that can be picked up after dark here. In case
its not listed--who are the radio broadcasters these days? Probably
nobody I'm familiar with except maybe if Tom Thayer is still doing
color but I'd have no idea on PxP. Just curious.
Thx

1000am is Chicago's ESPN affiliate and it has lousy strength even in the
Chicago area. I don't think it reaches much more than a 100 miles or so
beyond the city. It isn't like the good old days with SuperCFL blasting rock
and roll in competition with WLS.
670 the Score is available online. Go to www.670thescore.com and click on
the link there to stream the broadcast. It is always a hoot to listen to
Doug Buffone and Ed O'Bradivich, especially after the Bears lose. And they
are on after every game, regardless of the day and time.
Jeff Joniak is still doing the play by play, Thayer is still on color. Hub
Arkush no longer broadcasts Bears games.
You might be able to link to one of their web sites if WBBM isn't
available.
