JP Losman led teams - 2-7 after his first 9 starts.
Payton Manning lead teams - 3-13 after his first 16 starts.

(Something to think about)

Yeh, I'll really give it some real deep thought.

Equally relevant:
Ryan Leaf - 14 TD passes, 36 interceptions and a career QB rating of
50.0.

(makes you think, doesn't it?)

Equally relevant? You bring up the biggest bust in NFL history as an
example and you think you will be taken seriously.

If you're going to do what you're doing bender, you must choose the failures
in your little study as well and not just the success stories.

Most knobs can only see "their" facts. That is why we were stuck with their
thousands of posts about Rob Johnson and the "next steve young".
Philster/bender is a fool.

Thank you, Bender. You made my point for me!
There's a spectrum of NFL QBs from Leaf ---- Manning.

At this early point in his career, I'm sure all sane people feel that
Losman is far closer to the Leaf end of the spectrum than the Manning
end.

Being (mostly) of sound mind I absolutely agree with that statement. I
think one would have to be somewhat delusional to say Losman's performance
thus far is closer to Manning's than it is to Leaf's.

Actually, a much better comparison of his career to this point would be Gus
Frerotte or Joey Harrington.

And with a little improvement he could compare favorably to Charlie Batch.

The biggest bust in NFL history...? I think a certain $25-mill circus freak
known as "The Amazing Human Tent Peg" might qualify as a better candidate.

Losman is a 2nd year rookie, nothing more, nothing less. He was selected as
a gamble, wasting too many top picks.

It was foolish of the Bills to cut proven talent, again, and gambling on an
unproven nobody. The only thing more foolish was the knob hysteria and
cheerleading that followed. They failed to learn their painful lessons
during the Johnson Blunder.

IF these fools could do the math, so to speak, they would find a handful of
qbs selected during each years draft. Out of that handful each year, over
the course of a decade or two, only a small percentage EVER go on to show a
glimmer of HOF potential. Most end up as nobodies.

If one of the knobs would like to do the research for a change... feel free
to list the qbs taken during the draft for the last 20 years and we will all
select the ones that were worth the picks and time to develop. And then we
can all do the math. LOL

Just for giggles, I'll help the idiots get started. In 2005, 14
quarterbacks were drafted with another 10 available that went undrafted for
a grand total of 25 qbs for one year. Using this as a weak est.(i'll let
the knobs do the work for a change.), that would work out to 250 possible
qbs per decade or 500 for the last 20 years.
SO, out of that 500, how many became great qbs? DAMN few.
So bender...do the work or shut the hell up, again.

The lesson to be learned? EASY. When you have talent, keep it. Don't
BITCH because the player isn't perfect, because so very few are close and
then gamble away season after season on nobodies in the hopes of getting
something better and ending up with something much worse.

The point is that it is foolish to judge a player when he has only
played a handful of games. I am still amazed at how completely void of
intelligence the Flutie Flakes are. Not even the simplest point of
reasoning can get you past your Flakedom.

I'm not quite sure who you lump into that camp (except this Potter
character) - I'm certainly not one.

How does 14 plus 10 equal 25?

Sorry, my usual typos. I did notice none of the knobs tried to do the math
either. Our loss.

Now ...24 times 10 = 240 per decade. 480 for 20 years. Know post the % of
proven starters per draft available.
