LOUISVILLE, Colo. -- Former NFL lineman Ariel Solomon rear-ended a car
while driving his 7-year-old son on a motorcycle, killing the boy and
leaving Solomon in the hospital with broken bones.

Dakota Solomon died Monday at Children's Hospital.

Ariel Solomon, who spent six years in the NFL and played for Pittsburgh
and Minnesota, was listed in fair condition Wednesday at St. Anthony
Central Hospital in Denver.

A tragic situation.

Ariel Solomon didn't ring a bell so after checking I see he was on the
Vikings roster in 1996 (his only season with the Vikings) as a reserve OL.
The starting OL that year was Stussie, McDaniel, Christy, Gerak and
Stringer. The back-ups were Steve Dill, David Dixon and Solomon. I don't
recall Solomon playing much but the memory aint what it used to be.

When you say Solomon and the Vikings I tend to think of (no ... not Richard)
but Jesse. A nice outside LB for a few years before being shipped down to
Dallas in The Walker Give Away.

Did you have to remind us of that. I think I just got over that fiasco last
week.
