I think some people are just jealous. They are going to be zapping him whether it is college coaches or newspaper people and hitting him with whatever they can. It is a dog eat dog business. But if they really knew the guy, they would not say anything bad about him. Any guy that wants to bitch and moan about John should call me. If you ask this guy for a favor and he knows you, he’ll do it. He’s a good guy who gets a bad rap.”

Why?

“They are just jealous. This guy is a winner. Always has been,” Montelli, who had Calipari speak last week at his team’s postseason banquet to celebrate a second straight state title, said. “He made a mistake going to the pros (to coach the New Jersey Nets), but he got himself out of that and is back where he belongs.
