It's possible for six teams to end up with conference records of 6-3.
If it weren't for the fact that only Cal and USC would end up 9-3,
sending you-know-who to the Rose Bowl, I'd be rooting for it harder
than any individual team effort (well, excepting this Saturday, of
course - my appreciation of a world class cluster**** does have
limits. Fortunately, there is no conflict for me in rooting for
both. Sorry Ducks, Beavs, Cards, Troi, and Kitties, you all have to
lose to lesser, if not just plain really bad teams...)

Here's a weird stat I read on one of the USC fan sites earlier today.

During the Pete Carroll years, since 2001, the teams beating the Trojans are
4-11 in their next week's games. It's being called the Trojan Hangover. Of
the four winners, two of those teams lost their game the second week after
beating USC.

Look for Cal to beat Stanford and keep the trend alive.

I suppose it's possible, but I didn't think overall record came into
play (that would be armageddon now, wouldn't it :)

Actually, the tiebreaker on six teams at 6-3 is pretty crazy, and I
think the Trojans do end up taking the Rose Bowl in that scenario.
But I haven't completely gamed it out to see.

But it would be beautiful in its sheer clusterf*ck value. So, what
are we rooting for this week for that to happen? Bears, Kitties,
Cougs and Bruins?
