I couldn't help but notice errie similarities between the posts of these
two cruel and classless trolls. Observe, if you will:

************************

merry:
- Makes light of the Luke Recker car crash when there are paralyzed people
lying in hospitals because of it
- Justifies its (I can't use "her" because I'm not convinced that it's a
human being) crude blabber by saying that others would rejoice if Recker
were a Corngangsta

Coz:
- Tries to link the University of Oregon with Kip Kinkel just because he
was wearing a Duck shirt
- Claims that the Duck fans would use it to their advantage had Kinkel
worn a Husky shirt

************************

A MEMO TO THE TWO MOST OBNOXIOUS TROLLS ON THIS NG: Just because you two
have enough ill will in your f-ed up minds to even think of such things
doesn't mean the rest of us do. Just because you two lack any amount of
human compassion and a sense of decency doesn't mean the rest of us do. I
don't know if this is news to you, BUT SCHOOL LOYALTY DOESN'T MEAN SHIT IN
COMPARISON TO HUMAN TRAGEDIES! It's one thing to hold allegiances to your
favorite team to the level of myopia, but you two ought to be ashamed of
yourselves for trying to take advantages of such things. And for what,
YOUR FRIGGIN COLLEGE TEAM? Get a hold of yourselves, morons! Does it
mean that much to you that you would stoop so low to pick on your "rival
school" that way? Are your lives so devoid of any meaning that this is
all you look forward to? Is it too much to ask to get your priorities and
grow a conscience? I guess it is in your case.

Good call. The only thing I can add here is to take this further than
"just your frigging college team" to "just friggin college sports" or
"just friggin sports" or "just friggin regionalism".

If you can't respect other people's lives, or have any feel for other
people's predicament, maybe you don't really deserve to talk about
either one.

It's going to be a suck-fest, but I'll make the trip to empTe nonetheless.
I never thought the two teams would have to battle each other just to be

Cesspool? Well, it's better than the outhouses they're still using on that
border town called Tucscum. But I'll digress before getting REALLY fired up!

What I forsee is a badly shaken ASU squad, riddled with scandal and a bruised
sense of pride, trying to salvage their season with one last win. They will
be going in with the determination they showed at 'SC after losing to Oregon,
or UW after losing to Notre Dame. Big losses always kick the Devils in the
butt, so be prepared.

AU will play tough and will pull some moves that Snyder cannot and has never
been able to anticipate year after year. I think it's going to be very, very
close, and I'm going to give ASU the edge in this one because it will be
Redmond's last game.

Hey,

If you see a guy wearing a bizarre looking ASU wool cap with crooked
marron and gold horns on it, that's me. Say hello.

Anyway, since this is for nothing but the Hulka Bowl, I think I can
remain civil this week and next, though I must say I give the UA fans
a wave from Hawaii.....

It's gonna be sad, but I'm going ASU 31, UA 28.

Like I'd be able to tell you apart from all the fashion-challenged ASU
fans who dress like that every day... Hehehe... My group will be in the
visitors' section which will be full of red (one of whom is an ASU buddy

I picked the Cats to lose to Oregon State last week, but there's NO WAY I
can pick against them in this game, not when ASU has a history of losing
against Arizona.

Sorry, but I think the players have heard enough of Snyder's post-game
remarks about how they didn't play well (notice he never says he was
outcoached) to where they will respond accordingly by not playing well
in a big game.

Nice how Snyder always whines about the players being emotionally
flat...but...the score to UW vs. UCLA was NEVER told to the players
during the game and was NEVER posted at Sun Devil Stadium during the
Stanford game, despite the fact that the game ended early in the 1st
quarter of the ASU game.

Q: Exactly how does a team with a chance to take the inside track on a
trip to the Rose Bowl and the Pac 10 title come out emotionally flat.

A: When a continually ill prepared coaching staff sucks the life out
of them on a weekly basis.

My call:

UA 38, ASU 28

Bruce Snyder must go.

Hmm... At KGME, ASU's flagship's station in Phoenix, there has been some
debate as to whether or not Danny White, the coach of the Arena League's
Arizona Rattlers, should replace Snyder. (Now why would an Oregon
resident listen to a Phoenix station over the internet? Because I tire of
all-Blazer talk that dominates the airwaves at KFXX during the NBA season.
Did I mention that I can't stand the NBA?) I'm curious as to what you ASU
fans think about that possibility. I'm kind of thinking that Arizona
might need a coaching change as well, and White might be... nah, why would
they ever hire a Sun Dev... but then again, Mike Candrea (Arizona softball
coach) is an ASU alum... Just some random thoughts...

1) Kevin White is not going to buy out Snyder's contract. He's here, he's
queer, we have to get used to it.

2) Danny White may not want to come to ASU, I'm told. He's coaching the
Rattlers, a team that perpetually wins, and even though arena is a joke, he
probably enjoys his job.

3) I fear that by the time badly-needed changes do come around, it'll be too
late. However, ASU will have a senior quarterback next year who may just pull
off some wins. If that happens, everyone will be back on the Snyder bandwagon
once again as he takes credit for things that are not entirely his doing.

Hmm. They seemed to do ok after other losses... perpetually bouncing back. I
think this may be ASU's turn to win because AU is going to be overconfident.
It'll be close though.

> Q: Exactly how does a team with a chance to take the inside track on a

A. Have a star player fall to scandal, another very good player get into big
trouble with his church, have a QB who has to sit out every time he gets a
hangnail, and have a defense that manages to make the Farm defense look like a
brick wall.

Not to mention that the 12th man was bored and went home at halftime...which
made parking much easier this time. That was one of the worst games I've ever
been to.

> Bruce Snyder must go.

He must at least take some accountability for the program and stop blaming
everyone else. He was eager to take the credit during '96... where'd that
eagerness go?

BS has potential to be a great coach. He'd better prove it soon though.

It could be worse... those of us in L.A. have a battle between two teams
whose only prize is the right to say "at least we don't suck as bad as
you"... neither team will have a winning season regardless of the outcome of
the game, something which has not happened in my lifetime (it looks like the
last time this happened was in the late 1950s).

UGH.

If U$C/UCLA in last place isn't bad enough to get UO/OSU (both 7-3) on ABC,
nothing is...

In 1996 U$C played UCLA before finishing up the season with Notre Dame. If
the Trojans had won both of those games they could have had a winning
season. But yeah, your point is valid.

Doesn't surprise me at all, having suffered through several of them as a
fan. What does surprise me is that the Bruins are #3 overall in the
conference over all the years they have played, and that they are in the top
15 (as measured by average final poll ranking) all-time. Not bad for a
basketball school.

The NY Jets tore out their practice field turf due to the FACT more

Not a snowball's chance in hell of getting rid of Snyder for another
couple of years...courtesy of Kevin "the Subgenius" White, Snyder's
under contract until 2004. Makes sense to me that we'd give ANOTHER
two year contract extension to a guy whose last season went 5-6, but
that's what White did prior to this season, extending him from 2002 to
2004. Looks like Snyder could reward him by going 5-6 again.

It is also a huge leap of faith to assume that White is ready for a
major I-A coaching job. With the Rattlers he's a coach only (he
doesn't make personnel decisions), so it would be a big question mark
as to whether he can recruit at the major collegiate level.

Sadly, a senior QB with the knees of a senior citizen.

This is my major problem with him. You know what, 1996 was going to
be a tough act to follow. 1997 and 1998 were destined to be leaner
years because the 1992, 1993, and 1994 recruiting classes were fairly
lean. 1992 saw Snyder arrive in mid-recruiting season, 1994 saw him
trying to recruit coming off a 3-8 season...

My problem is his dog and pony show about his guys coming off flat.
It is (I believe) the responsibility of the coach to make sure those
things don't happen. Yet this team has been flat and unprepared at
ridiculous times. ASU players have said ON RECORD, that they didn't
feel prepared for the last two UA games. This team has come up
against GOOD teams looking lifeless (witness the 1998 debacle against
BYU, and last week against Stanford). At some point, Bruce needs to
look in the mirror when assigning blame.

I think White can do the job. He understands football, he was used to
help in recruiting right after he retired from the NFL, and is still
used as a spokesman today. I think he'd make a fine head coach in
college.

It is a well known fact that Danny White can't even stand being in
Tucson. If he has to stay over night, he either stays in Phoenix, or
he rents a hotel room outside of the town. There is no way in hell
Danny White would ever become the head football coach of UA. I don't
think there's enough money in the world....

He really hates UA.

I think if Snyder loses big against UA he may be gone. I also think
if ASU comes out flat next season, White will not hesititate to pull
the trigger. I don't agree with your analysis of White. He pulled
the trigger on Mob Boss Frieder and had to buy his sorry excuse for
coaching out. I think he'll do what's best for the program, even if
it costs the university money.

As well, the University can not afford a mass exodus on season
tickets. Ticket sales are already down to the level they were in
Marmie's last year. White would much rather spend the money now than
lose the money later.

That's what I think anyway.

What, to see which team is offered up as a sacrificial lamb to Wisconsin?
The entire conference is an embarrasing joke this year. That's the plain
unvarnished truth. The rivalry games will only matter to the fans of the
teams in question.

Without a profanity-laced tirade that will send all the fragile souls into
their confessionals, I must say, I wholeheartedly agree with the devil here.

I'm not prepared to pencil in a Wisconsin win (or any other bowl opponent
for that matter). Obviously, we have all made fun of the Pac this year, but
when it comes to bowl games... all things can change.

Stanford will score points. The uw team that played every game except ASU
and UCLA will be a handfull (as long as it isn't Colo State, after last
night). Oregon can score points and has been playing much better defense.
OSU will give anyone a hard time in Hawaii (assuming that's where they go),
and ASU or AZ will be a tough opponent for anyone. I think the NMSU/SJSU
debacles are behind us.

Lets not forget that Wisconsin got beat by the Bearcats of Cincinnati this
year 17-12. Those juggernauts who happen to be 3 & 7 with a 2 game losing
streak hosting Memphis tomorrow.

I don't think the associative law holds up in college football.

2 differences. Frieder, with his gambling, and his total lack of
control over his athletes (see gambling scandal), had become a hair
shirt. However, much I dislike Snyder (and I think it's no secret
that I'm very tired of his dog and pony show), he is not even close to
the total CANCER that Frieder was.

Also, Frieder had about 1 more year on his deal when he got the axe,
at about $3-400k. Firing Snyder would cost about $2.5 to 3 milliion,
and I see no way that White will part with the jack.

We'll see., I suppose. I think his job is safe through next year.
But if attendance continues to dip, and he turns in anything less than
a major bowl with what will be a veteran team next year, he would be
in trouble.
